YouTube Premium

How much do you pay for Apple Music?

If you do not pay for it, then it make sense in your use, but if I were paying any kind of music subscription service, I see no reason not just go YouTube Premium and not faff around with all the work around.

I have the Apple One subscription so get the storage, music, tv and arcade to share with family. I don't see Brave as being faff, it's just a browser so I now load that app rather than the YT app.

Even after I've supposedly updated my payment info, to the UK. Google have still sent another warning email to update my payment info or risk termination, while still taking £1.34 in rupees for another month.
Ok then :)

Students don’t forget you can get discounted YT premium, possibly anybody who can access a .edu email address as think that’s the only check?

I've ended up just doing YT Premium family on the joint account. Cancelled my Tidal, as I find YT Music is ok for general listening, and actually it's really nice to be able to listen to Youtube DJ sets in the car.

Audio quality is pants compared to tidal, but I have vinyl and CDs for when I want the full listening experience.

Noticed my premium had ended, checked and I've had the dreaded email - might switch to trying the Turkey giftcard method. Has anyone done that with a family subscription?

Not exactly the question you were asking, but for reference if you have Amazon Prime, it comes with ad free Amazon music so you could just replace Spotify with that, the upgrade to HD/UHD (high bitrate) is £10 a month extra (or £7 for the first three months), but be warned if you opt for that then afterwards Spotify and YouTube Music will sound like you're listening to a Ferric cassette tape :P
Thanks, I do have Prime but I seem to remember the Amazon Music app being a bit crap.

Speaking of which, I'm not sure I'm going to get on with YT Music either. For music it's probably on a par with Spotify (although it does have some annoyances, especially in android auto), but it's utterly crap for podcasts, and doesn't even have many of my regular shows. Which means if I ditch Spotify for it, I'll need to use another app just for podcasts. I've found a decent one (Podcast Addict) but it's a pain not being able to have both music and podcasts through one app, especially when you're in the car. Spotify was much better for this.

I'll also miss Spotify connect which was a nice way of casting my music to things like the TV or PC speakers while still being able to control it on my phone.

Sigh. I really wish there were more modular subscriptions. I'd happily pay for a YT Premium account that just gave me as free viewing, not music as well, and then keep Spotify.

Bah my turkey sub has ended but no email telling me about it. Monthly payment should have gone out yesterday and now its removed premium benefits
