YouTube Premium

Losing Premium prompted me to try ReVanced. Working well with both YT and YT Music. Yes, it means I have to put up with ads if I use other devices. But the vast, vast majority of my usage is on mobile anyway.

Oh well, had to give in and sign up for £12.99 UK individual account. Couldn't get any overseas accounts to work. Never mind, been on India for years so saved a wad of cash there.

As an aside, I was disgusted to see that Apple charge £16.99 a month just for signing up through them. Wow, they are sickening.

Google set the price not Apple.

Apple charge a 30% commission on App Store sales, as does Google.

The only reason it’s not 30% more expensive on Android is Google charging a Google company a 30% commission would be stupid.

If you sign up to Netflix or Spotify on either platform, they pass on the 30% charge to you.

Okay all sorted. My sub stopped last night, in India so had to fly home back to the UK. Managed to grab a cheap flight to Mexico. Family plan for £11. Still saving £9 - Small change but with 10000 subscription based models it all helps.

Worked perfect with no fuss.

Omg.. day 1 of ads :(
I need to get this sorted with an alternate country!
My first day without premium and lots of ads was yesterday, I'm about to lose my mind! We only managed a couple of hours of watching some of our regular youtube content but the ads are insufferable!

On my pc I don't see any problems with uBlock but its a massive shock on the smart tv and mobile devices. I went to work and had no background play which I'd totally forgotten about.

At this point I'm ready to try just about anything to restore some premium functionality. I wonder if the devil wants to strike a deal for someones soul :D

Other than pay?

If it's an Android TV, sideload SmartTube on it. Does away with the ads, and like usual, it has lots of actual good features that the "professional" official app can only dream of being half as useful.

Between that and ublock on my PC, I only have to deal with ads on my phone or tablet, which has made losing Premium a bit more bearable.

Should manage to pay off those flights pretty quickly with the savings! :D

Sorted! fairly easy in the end. £5-6 a month via turkey. Can also use existing burner master account without needing to leave / join a new family group.
You essentially need to purchase your sub via itunes. You will need an apple device to complete this though.
vpn-tools has the guide
can't for the life of me figure that one out showing 16.99 or 25.99 on my iphone
