there was a tutorial i followed. i just changed the raid OROM to a modded/newer one that will allow raid0 and trim
the new orom version is 11.6 i think

Interesting adding trim for the sad ? What does that offer son ?

presuming you mean ssd instead of sad
trim improves longevity and performace of ssd i believe
its essential
when using raid0 on two ssds, trim is disabled on z68 (and other platforms). t
he new raid driver supports raid0 trim, but it hasnt been implemented in z68 boards

Asrock has finally released Windows 8 Drivers, all them I already had from like Intel, broadcom sites etc
But still its nice to see they have also release it has Windows 8 Ready board now.

good news, im gonna add a 2nd SSD to my system for games. does it matter which sata port?

I would say pick one of the intel sata 3 ports if you have one left.

OK they are the grey ones ? I need to find my manuel and remove my graphics card and take a look!

Manufacture sites like Intel etc find the manufacture of the driver you need and use there site is better like.
But that link I just posted is the latest drivers for windows 8 and maybe 7

why are they saying 0.114 for Windows 8 but not 0.115? i'm running 0.115 which I downloaded elsewhere which says its for windows 8

I recently upgraded my bios from a 1.10 i think to the newest 2.something.
Since upgrading all of (a lot of) the settings have changed and as a result my old saved setting for a stable 4.4ghz overclock on my 2500k are no longer relevant.
I've had a play and can get a 4.5ghz stable, but 60% of the time when I turn my PC on it wont cold boot, and I need to keep holding the power button down to reboot it for it to turn on...
Has anybody got any recommended settings for the latest bios with a 2500k overclock.. i only want about 4.4ghz again...

I just use the default 4.6Ghz overclock settings and then turn on Power Saving on the same BIOS page (without the power saving I get a crash about once a week at idle). It works fine.
Perhaps you need to adjust the LLC setting?

I had a google and found a nice tutorial and appear to be back on a 4.4ghz clock that doesnt fail to cold boot every now and again! phew

The default profile has unnecessarily high voltages - may not bother some people but for those with OCD like myself I hate it
You can get 4.4 on about 1.25v (or less in some cases) rather than 1.4 or whatever the default gives you.. which in my case is about 15degrees under load difference.
At the moment I am about 60degrees, if not a bit less, on prime 95 stress tests with air cooling far from it's maximum setting
