Are we getting the same Special edition in Europe?

In the US there are 3 versions

1 - Standard (just the game)
2 - Collector's edition (everything below but the sword)
3 - Everything in the photo below

The UK I can only find this, weirdly I'd like the case, as it saves me buying another one.

Good video of BotW from Polygon on YouTube - https://youtu.be/310PF8ctRTM

17 minutes of play with no annoying commentary, just the game.

I didn't watch it all as I'm going to try and avoid many more videos, much as I want to know everything I'd like to experience it for myself on launch.

So how do we think this is going to fit into the entire Zelda timeline?

Many are proposing that this Link could actually be the Hero of Time in a timeline where he failed to defeat Ganon in Ocarina of Time, I doubt they'd tie BoTW as a major entry so closely to a previous game though, even though they did it with games like Majoras, PH, Zelda 2, and ALBW to an extent.

I feel it's either sometime in between OoT and ALttP or after the originals, Zelda 1 & 2. I was leaning towards the former based on what we've seen in trailers/footage. On the other hand, Nintendo have been making a habit of referencing the original Zelda with BoTW, but that could be pure fanservice so who knows.

We'll probably find out when we see "what happened 100 years ago". Whatever the placement it most likely won't play any major part in the story.

Interview with Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda series is up on Eurogamer.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...rge-extra-burden-of-moving-to-nintendo-switch

"This is an idea I've had bubbling away under the surface ever since I started making games."

Looking forward to discovering what it is!

I think I need to go dark on this game, don't want to risk seeing any spoilers or spotting any further details; I saw something the other day that I wish I hadn't, not a major spoiler but a major reference to another Zelda game.

I'm wondering when the review embargo for BotW is?

If it's prior to 3rd March and Zelda turns out to be just a good game rather than a great one (hopefully it's not rubbish!) would you consider cancelling your Switch/Zelda pre-order and waiting for a price drop?

The 'downgraded' footage is over 6 months out of date.
See this video for comparison of the 2016 vs 2017 build:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8WjK7iA5IA

Of course this makes it an unfair Wii-U vs Switch comparison because it's comparing the 2016 Wii-U build to the 2017 switch build - I imagine the current Wii-U build looks very similar to the 2017 switch build, only 720p instead of 900p.

To make a playable demo (ie with playable framerates) with an unfinished game, they would have had to make more downgrades than the final code.

From recent footage of the switch version, no one is complaining about the graphics quality.

The E3 footage from 2014 looked incredible, especially with the richer colours! What a damned shame!

I never understood why games end up with much more dull colours in the final product. Does the dull colours help hide something? Like maybe the lack of detail? People end up having to use SweetFX to fix things on PC on many games.

That E3 2014 looks great, I fear the Switch won't even have that :(

I think my partner would be like o_O followed by face palm if she saw me playing with it and found out if I paid £40-50 for it :p

I do have a Ryu and Mario Amibo however, but those two cost me less than £15 for them both of them at least.

I must have watched the 2017 trailer at least 30 times lol.

Not every day though... it's hard, but need to keep my mind focused on other things :o

It's such a fantastic trailer though, one of the best launch trailers I've seen for sure.
