Episode felt a bit all over the place, not really a fan of the approach they've taken to try and flesh things out a bit/character building it just feels a bit out of place and borrowing heavily from other franchises and clouds the good bits.

Thought there were some good character scenes, especially with Soren. I'm liking having Cortana with Makee, neither have had enough screentime so far this season so hopefully we can see more of them.

Spartan III's!

Enjoying season 2 but the paramount app is complete trash. Have to keep turning subtitles on and off as they don't come on automatically for the covenant scenes.

Didn't have this problem when I watched season 1 last year so they must have broken something

I still can't get UHD through it anymore, despite season 1 playing fine.

Slower episode this week after last week, some decent character development.

Paramount app has been getting worse and worse over the last year, it doesn't even remember what I've watched these days and it used too.

Nice slower episode, some good acting as well. Makeen and Cortana as someone else mentioned is quality.

She is good actress didn't realise she was in peaky blinders.

Has season 3 been commissioned ?

Really spoilt now for good sci-fi it seems.

Traitor to whom? Kai is following orders and working with Oni
Master Chief and the rest of the gang. I get they disobeyed orders and went against command but everyone but Kai went with Chief anyway.

Morally? Maybe, though it's more complicated than that. In the end they are soldiers and ONI is part of the UNSC so Ackerson is their superior officer. We don't really know what Kai has or hasn't done yet other than she is on Onyx with Ackerson.

I think the ONI realised Reach was a lost cause and evacuated the Spartans and the suits. Cobalt team were dead, Silver team got stood down, looking at the board there were maybe three other teams, they may have been off world anyway. It certainly seems like there are maybe 20-30 surviving Spartans out of maybe 50, although it’s likely many more died previously, both in the events of season one and in the events and attack on Reach in Season 2.

Doesn't make any sense.

They literally abandoned the place leaving all their most important stuff behind. If the Spartans are that important. Why use them as cannon fodder and abandon their best ones.

Suits are bespoke to the Spartan. No one else can use them.

I can only assume the idea is someone is working for the Covenant is sabotaging the war effort.

He looked rather crestfallen when she told him he was more or less allowed to escape. What chance we see Soren back in a suit at the end of the series?

In theory he failed the augmentation, which is what allows the Spartan use the suit. Trying to use the suit without augmentation would crush the wearer. Also he's meant to be deformed so no suit will fit him.

That said the series is making it up as it goes along. The Avengers might turn up yet, Soren might get a suit from Iron Man.

It would be much easier if people realised this was a story set in the Halo Universe and not a direct game to TV adaptation. I have never played Halo and have zero interest in the game, but am enjoying the show.
It's not set in "the" Halo universe. It's set in "a" Halo universe. A multi verse if you will.

Was thinking the same thing, loved the long sequences with the clever camera work to make it look like its all in one take. The plaza looked like something out of Callisto Protocol. One small gripe is cliche where some of them dont pick up all the best weapons available and opt for grenade or a pistol.

I havent played Halo before and dont know anything about the lore or storyline but doesnt the Spartan have their own specialise weapons or do they just use what every other solider has? Thought being a super soldier they have their own enhance weapons to match their enhance physiology and armour etc.

Not special weapons. The are genetically modified to be stronger, bigger, faster, smarter. An integral part of that is to matched with a special armour which enhances all that even further and would crush a normal person. It's also heals them. Also in the case of master chief he's integrated with AI which enhances all that again. Can't remember if they all got that but it was part of the overall plan. They basically live in the suits. The suit and the Spartan are one. They are tuned to the suit.

The show mentioned a bit of this early on, but seems to have forgotten it. The suit (armour) and the AI seems to have become optional at this point in the show.

That's was what baffled me. I didn't get the logic from that decision to sacrifice everything and everyone. Oh well can't win let's just not try. See you!!

Reach isn't everything at all, it's just one planet. It's an important one but far from everything. UNSC knew they couldn't win so pulled back to other planets. The whole war with the Covenant is a series of retreats because they are by far the weaker force. The main focus is making sure the Covenant don't find Earth, hence the Cole Protocol.

As to why they abandoned 3 spartans, that is up for debate. They're valuable of course but are they valuable if they don't follow orders? Ackerson might not think so, especially when you consider the closing shot of the last episode. The armor is far more valuable from a monetary standpoint and afaik there has been nothing that mentions them being unique to the wearer (I don't remember that from the game/book universe either personally)
