Aye same, I have no use for an 8Gb device marketed as "The best iPod ever made".

16Gb was cutting it fine tbh. :o

I actually have an 8gb touch (i tend to steer away from having complete albums, because i wont listen to them), but the iphone needs to be a better phone before id even consider it. It should be a phone first and an ipod second.

Spot on. :)

I'm still highly tempted though, I'd just put a minimal amount of music on though if I did get one.

I'll need to see when I go to the bank later, if I don't have enough for what I want to buy already the temptation might overcome me. :(

I've overcome that I'll never fit my collection on the iPhone.

I'll just create a randomised smart playlist and pop on enough songs to fill it :)

What happens when you come to sell it? Surely the sim will be associated with your phone number and account?

It's just dawned on me that I could sell my touch and put about £100 to and get an iPhone. Got a horrible feeling new gadget syndrome might kick in !

Just sell the iPhone with the SIM and tell your friends & family about the sale OR unlock the iPhone and sell it SIM-Free :)

Anyone going down today then? I demand pics!

If you don't unlock it and just sell it with the sim/number, it'll be attached to your bank account won't it? Not that it bothers me cos I'd unlock it and put my sim in, but just wondered really. Seems a unique situation with regards to resale.

Yes, I suppose it would.. unless you rung up 02 and told them you'd sold it.

.....which I doubt you're actually allowed to do.......

See where I'm going here? Unless you unlock it, or you sell it to someone who will, you're stuck with it.

When i go into the O2 shop at 6.02pm (stupid time) do i just buy the phone and sort everything else out at home?

Josh

Yeah I'm getting bored of that too.

ONe question I've missed though. Do we have to buy with a card like the US?

Yep, and it has to be a chip and pin card too, not like there arent many cards that arent these days

But yeah, the guy in the shop told me to make sure I bring my debit/credit card as cash will not be accepted

Not sure about cards, but there is a 2-per-customer limit.

I see what you're saying Oliver, but if you buy-out of your contract then 02 are forced to untie the handset from your billing details. (I would think).

Someone in Germany's been and bought one from a T-Mobile shop and had t sign up to the contract in-store. The activation only is done over iTunes there.....

I actually had £500 in 50's yesterday.. good job I banked it :)

I seriously didn't think they'd make it card-only in the UK too.

So, i can just walk in and get it right without signing contract? :p

Josh

Yes mate

You'll just stroll in and buy it like you would say a games console, hand over your card, pay and away you go

Everything else is done through iTunes when you get home
