What is the MG ZS like?

Nope, but the review was of a tired example of car genrally considered to be alirght but nowt special.

That's why I stated the bad points. I was pointing out what really made me like it - the handling, power, noise and the feeling of speed from it. PMKeates' 330 is faster, but it didn't feel as fast as this.

Put next to his previous cars just anything probably feels awesome....

If you say so....the first Astra was a great first car, the 2nd one was awesome in having the niceness of a new car and the gadgets etc. The Saab had what the Astra needed - more power, but the Astra had what the Saab needs - the ability to go round a corner without feeling like your going to tip over.

The MG has both the goodness of the Astra and Saab into one decent package :). It goes fast, it FEELS fast and it goes round corners, and in my opinion - looks the bomb

the ZS (And the smaller one) is a car i irrationally hate tbh, i think its because there are some really chavy really owners with the smaller engined ones.

Although this theard has got me tempted by the ZT, one at a good price locally :(

Go for a test drive mate :) you might be very surprised! :)

Don't even want another car, really like the volvo and excellent car for motorway and bumper to bumper traffic.

But as soon as i hit a country road its :( Autobox feels like its always in the wrong gear and the suspension is far too soft. Steering and brakes also have little feel.

...AGW tells me it isn't hard to make them reach the magical 200 mark.

£300 for a Superchips re-map and @£100 for a custom made induction kit is all it cost me, granted the IK probably doesn't add much power wise but the sound is fantastic.
They're very underrated cars and on the whole only get slated by people who haven't driven one or just don't want to admit they're pretty good really:)

I'm not going to buy it anyway.

<snip>

Only reason I'm test driving it is because it's the closest one to me :)

And this is the reasone that I'll probably throw my car away when I'm done with it rather than try and sell it privately

EDIT: Haven't left yet as I'm waiting for Dad to come home to come with me

Why? As you said, your not going to buy it anyway

Anybody want to take bets as to whether this thread will have any more point to it than any of Phates other threads

like the Tell me about Seat Ibizas thread, or the Where can i buy an Astra shell thread, or the Tell me about Supras thread, or the Tell me about 200sx thread, or the I want an A3 Thread, or the Tell me about the hyundai coupe thread, or finally the My next car is an impreza thread.

Or will we just continue to splurge money on the saab despite everybodys best advise which was the plan not 2 weeks ago ?

So what if I create a lot of threads about cars?

I ask lots of questions, and have lots going on so my mind changes a lot. OMG HE CHANGED HIS MIND? OH NOES!?!?!?!?!

Test drove the MG on Saturday, despite the car being a heap I loved it so It's given me something to save for now...a target if you will.

A lot of people create a lot of threads, various topics, various discussions etc etc. So what? it's a public forum.

i was doing exactly as my post said, wondering whether this post will have any more point to it than all of your other pointless threads

whether they become pointless because you "changed your mind" or were simply dreaming is up for debate, But either which way, they still became pointless as you never bought the car you were asking about ..

It is amusing though. It seems you 'love' every car you test drive, ever, and decide it'll be your next car..

not...really...

The A3 - was nice an all, but no because of the steering.
The Ibiza, good performance and handling but the insurance was a joke.
The Scooby - ok ok, that I did love. But insurance wouldn't have any of it.

and for the record if you read the Hyundai Coupe thread that wasn't for me, it was for a friend. (directed at MrLOL not you Fox)

Supra I never test drove and the 200sx I really enjoyed when Lopez took me out :).

I just like cars :) I get at least 1 phone call a week because apparently my insurance is due to expire on a 200sx or something where I've done so many quotes :p

Advantage I have is I have a good friend who works at Adrian Flux who got me a good bit of £££ off my best quote on the ZS. :)

a lot of threads on these forums are pointless.

It's a public discussion based forum, anything can and does get talked about, whether or not anything will get done about it is different.
