Say your going to another network or something then and I'm sure they'll give you the phone :D

I'll look through my phone at lunch time and see if I can work out the Video Calls but as for texts I would like to know this too. At the moment I'm having to resort to adding the names as I go! Though typing them in works very well!

One thing annoying me with the phone is the wheel for zooming during texts, it's way too sensitive and the size changes all the time when I'm using the directional buttons grrrrrrr!

I am already with them, and have been for around 7 years . I spend in excess of £1k per year - I spoke to them on Friday and no problems, apparently this was changed on the weekend :o

Unfortunately I still have a few months left on my contract so I can't cancel yet :(
 
I got a Diamond on loan for a few days. I put my sim card in, 30 minutes later I swapped back to my old phone.

To sum up this phone is two words "slow" and "awkward". It has the latest Rom but its still very laggy and controls just doesn't seem intuitive.

Can people shade some light on why they think this phone is so good? Maybe I'm missing something.

Didnt really give it much of a chance did you???. I agree though...out of the box the phone isnt all that...only thing that impressed me the most was the size of it and how thin it was.

It was only after i went to XDA forums that i discovered what an absolute joy this phone can be. I ended up ditching the standard HTC rom as they are rubbish...im running the TLR 2 rom and its been good as gold...fast and responsive and the screen is just beautiful.

At one point i was going to return it but now i cant live without it...hell i had the iphone 3g last week and i missed the Diamond more...

Are you missing something??...perhaps you are...this phone isnt for everyone tbh...its a bit like marmite...u either like it or hate it.
 
My O2 XDA Ignito (O2's version of the Diamond) arrived yesterday. Spent last night playing with it, and it's great.

It doesn't have the silly shaped back on it, which is nice, as I didn't like that on the diamond.
 
I really think I wanna get one of these roms! seems like a cracking piece of software! Plus the Diamond is a tad sluggish for me so would be ideal!
 
Yup sluggish for me and the Custom RUU rom updater thingy doesn't work for me.

Bah more trawling through XDA forum needed.
 
just a tip to anyone that might be interested. i have just installed opera mini on my diamond an its brilliant, its a lot faster than opera 9.5 that comes on the phone.

Do you know if it is unlocked like most other O2 phones?

Mine is a Orange handset but didn't come with the Orange ROM. Bought in July. Think Spawn bought his before me so I guess his didn't have the Orange ROM either.
 
Dunno if my O2 one is locked, but comes with O2 ROM.

Hopefully my new SIM card will arrive asap so I can use SMS on mine :rolleyes::)

Only the logo on the back of the handset here! No oraneg branded software but I assume I can flash it!

Is there any quick fire tutorial/walkthroughs of what to do, i looked through XDA and it all seems a bit complicated so a simplified walkthrough if possible would be ideal!

p.s its good to turn your phone off every now and again especially after a days use as I've found it to get quite sluggish
 
The first one I got I had a tweak prog put on it with various settings on it and I thought it ran faster... but anyway I had probs with it (kept crashing and randomly turning off, menus disappearing etc) so returned it.

Got another one sent to me and don't really think its that laggy so haven't put the software back on it.

I love the phone :D but the light going out when you are connected is a pita, esp if you are dialling Voicemail and have to press 1... grrr!
