The Witcher - Enhanced Edition

ok so the combat is still the same pressing mouse to hit someone and if you really bright and hit it in time press mouse 1 again ?

I think someone has already quoted Zero Punctuation in this thead, and had you read any of the recent posts you would've seen that combat was more involved than that even in the launch version of the game. :)

well i played the the game and found game interesting just the combat bit dodgy just asking is there any changes in it ?

how ever i played only till i got out some castle and some dogs/wolfs killed me

I might get this game (already played most of it + sold) I really enjoyed it the first time round, just wondering what the changes they have made are like? If possible, could some post a few screenshots of it playing on one of the new graphics cards?

Anyone know what happened to this on Steam? I could have sworn I saw a Steam advert for it the other day, and now I can't see any mention of it..

Herojuana well ill post some screenies when i next play it. but give it a google to see the changes. most of them are very subtle. graphics are the same really. more gesture animations, randomly coloured clothes/monsters. voice overs.

Ah, this thats where you went wrong. This is an RPG not a MMO or console game, you need to follow the story then you would know the name of the castle and you need to put some thought into building your character, then some nansy wolves wouldnt have killed ya ;).

BLNT!

Its quite good, I've only played it for a bit but it has something few games seem to have now, atmosphere. The way the villagers take cover when it rains and comment on it. It has all the little details that, make it seem like a real world which you have been invited into.

Absolutely, i absolutely loved playing through it and it's something i often feel that NWN2 is missing :)

It has to be said that The Witcher is one of the best games in years.

The combat lets it down slightly, and initially when playing through the castle section (months ago) I wondered what all the fuss was about. However, once you get out and explore the world a bit more, there is a lot of depth to be found.

It has a great storyline, some beautifully crafted towns/environments, and quest structures that are reminiscent of the great Planescape: Torment. And that is high praise indeed:)

Its good to see all the positive posts, I loved this game also and it's the first game I've played through to completion for a long time. I got really immersed in the atmosphere and storyline and I loved the fact that your decisions effect the storyline's direction to a degree. I don't know why people complain so much about the combat either, there's so much more to it than just point and click....

I'm starting it back up tonight, I have a few main aims this time. First I want to make sure I max my level before the end, which means completing ALL quests (I know I missed a quite few in Act 1 first time through as I was learning the game), I also want to take a different route at the key junctures to see how things pan out.

I noticed a few new dialogues so far, some of the out-of-place Geralt lines that stick out like a sore thumb are still there in a couple of places; I think Lambert at the start had a whole new section re-recorded though.

So far, I've seen next to no evidence of the reduced loading times up to the Outskirts, and all NPCs still look as unvaried as before.

Graphics-wise, all I've noticed is some nicer lighting in parts of Kaer Morhen. In-game cutscenes are still a little bit pixelated. Gonna have to play more of it I guess...

On the upside, the new improved inventory was a welcome change.

That sounds disappointing, loading times, NPC models and new dialogues was their main "selling point".

The load times are hugely improved! I did think a lot of the npcs still look the same though, the 'fat merchant' one in particular is still popping up everywhere.
