The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

The constant frame skip when outside is too much for me, can't play it. Smooth as butter when indoors but outside is not. Is there a fix?

Funny you should mention this as for the first time last night whilst playing, I noticed this too.

After leaving the Vault, I've been wandering around Megaton exploring, last night was the first time I left the town gates and went for a wander outside at night. It was then I noticed the frame skipping thingy.

Any of you guys who had this managed to shed any light on it and how to cure it?.

Ta.

My current pet hate for this game (there have been a few so far) is one of the ways the Dev's have used to increase the difficulty of enemies - by increasing the speed they move. Having a Super Mutant Master waddling over towards you in fast forward speed like Benny Hill looks ridiculous.

Anyone found Dogmeat yet? I'm guessing he's part of the main quest because I've just been exploring the map and doing side quests so far, I even choose animal companion (or whatever the skill is called) twice in case you need it to get him :)

Still, enjoying my time in game on the whole and it's just the odd design decision can be annoying and spoil my session every now and then.

Hmm, I get some odd stuttering every few seconds when I look around when running it on my TV at 1368x768, I intended to play it that way with the 360 pad as I get some slight framerate drops at 1920x1200 which kinda spoils it, mainly because it runs at 60 most the time but when it drops you really notice it. :(

I love this game!
Only two criticisms. One is the inability to remap the 'Home' key. My entire control system relies on this key and those around it. Consequently, I've had to try to get used to another set of keys, which keeps getting me killed.
My other gripe is a game bug. It usually happens after it's loaded up some new data. The framerate, which usually stays at a steady 60 due to me using the ifpsclamp=60 to stop microstuttering when strafing, drops down to 30. It still runs smoothly but the character's run speed is slow. I recall that Oblivion had a similar bug when riding horses. Suddenly, your horse would canter in slow motion. The solution with both games is to save and quit and restart the game, load your save and you're back to normal.
I'm hoping that they sort both problems out with a patch but the key mappings might be a standard for the Games for Windows boll###s.

Edit: I've just read that the slow-mo effect is caused by the ifpsclamp=60. So it seems I have to choose the lesser of two evils.

Has anyone experienced any bugs with it yet in terms of the game crashing to the desktop and suddenly the screen just going black and not beeing able to make the screen 'appear' again without a computer restart.

I think that could be a bug for the PC version, I have played the 360 and PC version (360 more) but never encountered that on the 360, same difficulty on both, but on the PC it happens quite a lot.

oh that's interesting, I'm playing on Hard but it's only started to happen now I'm around lvl 13, at least it makes the dart gun useful though :)

well.... 26 and a half hours in and I am nearly level 13 - am deffo enjoying this game! I outright refused to rush and do the main quest (finding your father) and am enjoying the many sidequests from various places. One lil touch I like is the radio dj announcing your progress and how much you are helping the communities etc.

I would think this game was a complete waste of time and money if I had rushed the main quest in 10-12 hours - so glad I didnt.

**EDIT**

Oh yeah, this game eats away at your social life! 26 1/2 hrs over a 48 hour weekend lol!!
