What Nikon did you have before? The urges to go back to Nikon are ever nearing once again heh!

Yes, I'd prefer they concentrate on core features. I can understand it on consumer models but not for the pro range.
Seems that the dpreview preview is up now....sorry if I missed it earlier in the thread, feeling distinctly under the weather guys and gals...

Canon don't sacrifice core features to work on adding in video, I can't believe people still believe this. After live view was implemented, which is certainly an asset to the right photographers, it's not a complicated step moving to recording that feed.
Canon have been making digital video cameras for years so it would be logical to assume that they used their knowledge and expertise from these departments and didn't start from scratch.
But the 7D looks to be packed with pretty impressive features and spec, do you think there is something they have missed out on due to including video?

I wanna know those that complain about video, what features are Canon sacrificing in this 7D, honestly, where? lol
Read my post again. I didn't say they sacrificed anything for video. I said I wanted them to concentrate on the core features. This doesn't mean add more features it means keep developing the features related to still images.
A pro level DSLR should be optimised to take still images. Any deviation from that seems a waste of resources, not matter how minimal the impact to the overall produce, price point, time take to produce and get accepted.
Thing is, they have concentrated on the Core Features !
And how do you know how much impact it has on the other features or price, it is all guess work, and personally, rather than look on the negative, look on the positive. We now have a camera with 1 series features for 1/3 of the price !
That is the bottom line.

That's a preview, not a review![]()

So as they said...![]()
Negative? Hardly, I've ordered one!![]()
Seriously? At the pre-order price? Congratulations!
I cannot see the 60D getting the 7D AF system so suspect it will stick with the 9 point system.

I still think that still image ISO IQ has been compromised either by reducing the time/money in developing it and/or having to adjust it to allow it to take 30 mins of video without overheating.
Saying that, this will almost certainly be my next SLR.
I would like to see high high HIGH ISO results first tho.
Don't want to give up your 17-55 ?Oooh, what happened to the 5Dii?Don't want to give up your 17-55 ?
I want one of them too, but the lack of a 24-70 IS is just not acceptable from Canon.
My 17-55 USM IS is tack sharp and the IS has saved me on many occasions.
They really need to kick there ass into gear and get a 24-70 IS out ASAP!
Seriously? At the pre-order price? Congratulations!
