no its not becuase the scholers all have the same opinions on the core elements of islam they only slightly differ on things like sighting of the moon for the months etc..

According to the Scholars at Mecca, Saudi Arabia, women are worth half that of a man, and arent allowed to drive.

Yay for Islam based on what the Scholars from within its holy city / country believe.

So are you saying that if we can't see or hear or smell something, it definately doesn't exist?

If it has no physical or energetic interaction we can detect.

I'd say yeah, and if it does exist it's probably irrelevant due to it's inability to interact with us or our universe

Not so simple as sight smell and taste mind, that would just be childish.

No, only if it cant be sensed in any one of the 5 ways. Not by all 5 ways.

Even atoms can be seen under an electron microscope, and moving atoms / molecules can be felt by the wind.

Now, show me God.

So what's your interpretation of that verse?

And what is the "scholars" unified opinion (because i bet there's quite a lot of disagreement about this one.)

i seriously do not know. if was to interpret it wrong and then you take that explanation away and say to others' oh this muslims guy said this verse means this this and this' when it doesnt then this is a sin on my part.

you go can go to a mosque and ask. usually the phone for a scholer will be displayed somewhere.

we have non muslims come to our msoque to ask questions

So one "i refuse"

one "didn't even know it was in the quran"

And one "I'm going to grow up to be a politician or PR spokesman".

nice.

Although it's good to know your religion actually makes it a sin to think for yourself about the qurans writings.

no its not that they arnt allowed to drive.

Man is responsible for a womans safety. So if a mans wife comes to some harm then he will have to answer to god as to why he didnt protect here. If a woman goes out in the car and the man goes the he ensures her saftey if she does not want him to come then the man will not be responsible.

no where in islam it says women cant drive

It is not for anyone else to say you will go to hell because you did this, or you will go here because of this. The punishments are specified for certain actions which are considered haraam or forbidden however, God forgives all sins if it is sincere. No one can see what is in another persons heart, therefore, he cannot give judgement.

If someone dies in the state of shirk, which is associating partners with God, then he won't be forgiven. So those people who have totally abandoned the teachings of Jesus Christ pbuh and have taken him as a god instead, and are worshipping him, if they die in that state, they can never be forgiven.

That's the point.

It doesn't say it but certain scholars say it does.

They do not all agree.

For example if you had gone and looked up what they say about that verse you'd find there are many conflicting interpretations on it.

Please do tell me what the scholar at your mosque says about it though.

no tefal its seriously not a refusal. We take our religion seriously. If was to try and explain something to you that goes out of my boundries of understanding then there is a chance that it will be wrong.

Of course we are allowed to think for oursleves. frequently in the mosque we have a question and answer session were we got a lot of things explained

I meant why is this not readable to the average man or woman? Why has it been written so as to be open to having different interpretations?

But it can be interperated from this that men can force women not to drive if they think it would harm them.

However, the rule in Saudia Arabia isnt based around that belief, it is based around the belief that Women are not allowed to be out in public, or anywhere in the presance of an unrelated man, and it is illegal and punishable by hundreds of lashes and 6 months in prison for a woman to be in the same room as an unrelated man in Saudi Arabia.

No you're the politician/pr type answer (saying much while saying nothing) spawn is the refusal.

I don't care about it that much.

I simply wanted your interpreation.

But perhaps you should. ask your local scholar about it, after all you must be curious about a verse in your holy book which you cannot explain nor understand?

Have you never sat down, not even once, and thought 'Hang on a minute....'?

Do you really just blindly beleive all this stuff because its in a book?
