Spurs look a bit short of forwards

Keane, Crouch, Pavlechenko & Defoe looks decent to me, in fact you could make a case to say that their 4th choice striker is better than the 4th choice proffered by the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Scholes and Giggs are not "key players" to MU anymore, now that's not to say they aren't decent, just that their team isn't drastically weakened by leaving them out when everyone else is available.

"Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will instruct Wayne Rooney to rest after England's World Cup disaster and will not take him on the club's US tour.

Fergie announced ages ago that he wasn't taking any of the World Cup players on tour. So not really news then.

So why post it? :p

And just so we have some transfer rumours in the transfer rumours thread: Hodgson wants to sign Ashley Young, Hangelaand, Taylor (Newcastle) and Joe Cole says the Mirror :p

Daily Fail saying Torres is on the verge of joining Chelsea after his agent said he will be staying in the Premier League, but probably not Liverpool.

Anyone else hate scumbag agents?

I am also starting to dislike Football, it's being ruined by money and contracts now are simply not worth the paper they are written on.

Sounds about right. New manager, agent sees this as an oportunity to get his player either a move to a team playing in the CL or a nice big pay raise :p

Hopefully he is coming to Arsenal ;)

Bendtner could teach him a few new tricks in being the "best player in the world" :p

Just reading a few of the blogs this morning and this cropped up which made me laugh.

Koscielny will sign at some point and that seems to be about the size of it. This morning's Mail says Sporting Braga have offered us their goalkeeper, Eduardo, who was pretty decent in the World Cup. For some reason they'd rather he joined us than Genoa. We can only speculate as to why. Either they don't like Genoa or they don't like us. Either way they're clearly bitter people and we should stay well away from them.

Oh and I was just looking at the Emirates Cup fixtures which kicks off on the 31st of this month and it looks like Celtic, AC Milan and Lyon, so hopefully it won't be a joke like the last few have been.

Todays gos...

Chelsea seem to be linked with everybody under the sun again.

I'm a little upset with Fergie doing his usual "the transfer market is over priced" malarky again this summer. The amount of good players that are (rumoured) to be going for between £15m-£20m is pretty surprising.

We don't need to try and find the next big thing in football, and then find out they're no good... so put them on loan or sell them a season later.

Our buying power and mentality seems to be aimed at the above average players at the moment. I know we've never really gone out and bought megastars in the past, but it's still worrying.

I would consider buying Ferdinand, Rooney and Berb as big spending. Even Carrick and Veron despite them not all doing well.

how was capello unlucky?

he took some terrible players and put them onto the pitch in a bad situation where they would add nothing.. and thats exactly what they did.

to me thats bad management...

playing rooney despite his apparent lack of form was also terrible. watch spain, torres is completely the match of rooney and spain had no probs chopping him at half time. and they dd NOT bring a heskey on, or even someone nearly as terrible as heskey.
