Well weve signed Aleksander Kolarov for around 19m which is quite expensive i think :/ but from the videos ive seen and the reports ive read hes very adept at going forward,SHOOTING!! and defending...
Also with our 'first team' now at 37 and we needing 25 by 1 september i think that we should be selling
Jo, Ireland, Zabaleta, Santa Cruz, Onuoha and SWP
Our team should be
Hart and Given
Kolarov and Bridge
Kompany,Lescott,Toure,Boyata
Richards and Boateng
Viera :/,De Jong,Barry,Y Toure
A Johnson,Bellamy,Silva and Weiss
Tevez,Adebayor and hopefully Balotelli
That means we have 8 home grown players and 4 places left for others

Malouda had a great season for him, but there were a dozen more effective wingers in the league. Valencia was WAY better than Malouda/Nani, both of whom only had a very small number of good games, and in other games absolutely stank. Valencia only had a few bad games, he had mostly excelent or good games. Nani/Malouda had a handful of excellent games, and the rest were mostly bad.

Thats not quite true, Valencia had a lot of average games, and a lot of games where his lack of ability saw him stood up and ineffective.
Nani, when he finally got a run of games on his good side (the right, he is right footed, not left footed, he isnt two footed, but very right footed) proved to able to do everything Valencia could do and a whole lot more.

Play Valencia on the left and see if he does any better than Nani.

I have to agree with you on Malouda though, he is painfully average.

Does it matter who he scored against? Quite a lot of the same teams he'll face again this year.

Thats not the point he is making, the point he is making is that he mostly scored in games where the result was already decided and therefore fairly pointless.

You play football, once you get to 3-0 up against a weaker side than than yours, putting another couple in or setting up the **** in the side to score is childs play.

I've played in a lot more 5,6,7 nil games that I have one nil.

I played in a game in the league where we could only field 8 players and we won 11-4, we got 2 pens after we 8-4 up that we sent the goalie up for.

You would dump one of the clubs best midfielders to keep the likes of Patrick Vieira, Barry and Lescott at the club?

Who Ireland?....Well if you watched any Man City games last season and if you have watched any in pre season you can see clearly he doesnt care at all about playing for the club....Had a amazing season 2 yrs ago and seems to be living on that reputation at the moment and more than likely if he goes somewhere like A Villa or Everton or somewhere he will reproduce that form and he will be talked about like Richard Dunne again and how stupid we were to sell him.

I think ireland could be the bargain of the summer - he is a very good player when on form and if man city are trying to offload players cheap then he could be picked up by man u or someone else for a very good price.

Why would he be cheap? City clearly aren't in a position where they need to sell, and equally they can afford to be fussy over who they sell to.

Would City really sell a player to Utd? I'd be surprised.

There squad's way too large so they have to sell I think. You're right that he probably won't go to united though.

They'll certainly be looking to sell a few players, after all they've got more than 25 senior players which is all you're allowed to register for the league this season.

I just don't see why they'd be selling players on the cheap though. Somebody like Ireland would attract enough interest to fetch a decent price.

edit: I suppose City might be more inclined to accept a smaller fee from a non rival club instead of selling a player to 1 of the bigger clubs though.

Not quite. Players under the age of 21 don't count as part of your 25. Somebody went through their squad on RAWK and they've only got ~30 players over the age of 21.

Looking through their squad, they could easily trim that down without selling anybody of note.

This obviously doesn't take into account the players they're going to sign between then and now.

In other news, I saw Mike Newell in the pub last night. Went over and told him his comment about female linesmen was genius and only what the rest of the world were thinking. Laughed his head off, told me it didn't do him any good but bought me a pint so fair do's to him.
