Well motherboard has arrived, installed CPU, heatsink and PSU only. Finally hearing beeps that no memory installed so maybe things are looking up

Alright I put this stuff in the case now and move on to HDD, graphic card and sound card.

Glad you got it sorted pal.

I will say tho, i'm really am glad i went for one of the all in water cooling units.... the big heatsink CPU blocks look awful imo. Thats not a dig at yours particularly otemu... but CPU coolers as a whole.

I've never really understood why you shouldn't. Done it more times than I care to remember, with no problems. :confused:

you arent supposed to do it, it can short/kill the board/

is that because you put the board on an AS bag and powered it up?

it would suggest to me that you have killed the board.

I can only RMA the 2nd motherboard and see what they say, the first board puting in for repair Monday.

Dam is look like a disaster......

Wow! an interesting read this thread.

Otemu, are you sure the motherboard standoff's are in the correct place in your case? If not you can short the motherboard hence why no post when you put the board in the case.

I hope this works out for you but this is why i prefer to buy rather than build. infact given the choice i think i'd rather eat a broken glass sandwich than build my own.
