Sick of everyone whining about some aspect of the game or other, how about you all wait until it comes out before you start whining.

My concerns so far are

Eratic AI.
Computer takes control of the car when you enter the pitlane.
When you spin the game seems to spin you back round facing the right way automatically.
All car's have the same engine sounds.

Eratic AI - Where? No different from real life moments really.

Computer takes control of the car when you enter the pitlane - no idea to be honest how much input the player has in the pitlane. There is a bug there being worked on right now and I know we can switch off the pitlane limiter. Same with the automatic starts - for those of you who don't know, the car will roll if you don't get it right :)

When you spin the game seems to spin you back round facing the right way automatically - in all the videos I have seen this hasn't been the case. Possibly depends on difficulty? Again, most of the negative comments like these have been based on players playing on easy.

All car's have the same engine sounds - not much different from real life F1 then.

Eratic AI can be seen in this video when the player gets close look at the front wheels of the AI twitching erratically.

Also in that video the player spins a lot near the end on wrecked tires and pretty much every time seems to almost stop spinning then suddenly starts spinning again until his car is facing the right way.

And in the latest VVVGamer video the reviewer said he was going to switch on manual pit stops yet when he entered the pits after a few laps the computer still took control of the car in pitlane.

Someone has never been to a F1 event then, all the different engine and exhaust configurations create different sounds.

It has been said for afew months that the AI will control ths steering but the player can control the throttle/brake actions when coming to the pit box.

EXACTLY. The game isnt even out. The general public have yet to play the game, yet people are criticizing the game.

For the PC at least, expect there to be plenty of mods available and patches to fix some problems. Be patient. After the game is released, we shall know how good the released version of the game is and also how well the game plays on different systems.

All this talk of "will the game run at x resolution on my PC" is impossible to answer at this stage as the general public do not yet have the game.

Come on guys, be patient. This is only a game. When the game arrives, install it and play it...see how it performs. If its slow, then funds permitting, buy better hardware, otherwise reduce the settings and be happy.

Its not a sim, if you want realism go play another game.

That's such a poor excuse to get out of every situation. "This game is allowed to have dozens of problems because it's not a sim". I see that being used by fans of nearly every upcoming game these days.

It's true that we won't know until we try it ourselves (no demo) but you can make PRETTY good estimations from videos and reviews. Of course some people use that as an excuse as well and say the most ridiculous things based on videos but that's what anonymity does. Oh wait, iRacing forums have their share of ridiculous statements too.. oh well.

Why do people get so defensive in the week leading up to any release? I'm quite looking forward to this now, but we should absolutely pick apart any issues we see, what else is there to do?

get a life? and enjoy the wait

That's a stupid response if ever there was one.

You criticise something therefore you don't have a life.

If we don't criticise things then how will they be improved? Do you tell games/film/*insert anything here* reviewers to get a life?

he asked what else is there to do?, I wasnt saying get a life for criticising the game. but people should at least wait till they play the final product for them selves

Christ.

Clearly I was talking about what to do in this thread. If you think about it, it's probably pretty unlikeley that my entire life is limited to waiting for F1 2010

There is a week to go until it's released, some of us are hyped, some of us are worried, some of us are both. I wasn't aware this thread was just for pompous hype.

It is very likely this game on the whole is going to be a "release and done" affair meaning patches will be few and far between and any released will be to address critical bugs and not add new features or modify the game engine.

I think it is fair that people mention their concerns about the game if they are paying the money for it without being told to "shut up" if they post anything negative about it.

If people do pickup anything from gameplay videos, it is only right it is discussed I feel at this stage, seeing as the game would have gone gold a while ago.

Not having complete control of the car in the pit lane is an annoyance.

Interesting numbers from the poll.
