January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

Any one turning on him is harsh and unjust imo, The club has let him down and rest of squad on many occasions over the years you can hardly blame him.

His timing is beyond crap and is disrespectful but hopefully if anything owners will say "you can leave but not until the summer window until then you play here" Which would atleast give us time to find a replacemeant.

If he insist now then play hardball with Chelsea 50Mill + Anelka least then we would have some better cover as i cant see Ngog holding the line. if not and we get cash only way i see is forming up is

Suarez Kuyt Maxi, Which other than Suarez and this is assuming he settles in and still signs is hardly very threating to any team

I love watching fans turn on hereos when they hand in a transfer request. I await the get out of our club video with a bunch of celebs.

I think you will find as I mentioned, that any fans who have turned on him, haven't done so because he handed in a transfer request but because of when it was handed in. I would think that any club fan, even the most anti Liverpool fan (and god knows there are plenty of those on here) would agree that a player handing in a transfer request with 2 days of a transfer window remaining and on the same day as a major club signing , is out of order.

Torres gone- it's just a matter of thrashing out the fee, Charlie Adam deal likely to happen- same issues as Torres deal around fee and another striker coming in. The voice of football has spoken.

Yes that's because us the fans have no idea really whats going on behind the scenes. Perhaps he isn't happy with Kennys appointment in what seems like a stop gap where you have a caretaker manager buying players that this new super top manager that's coming in won't like.

Perhaps he was promised things to stay at the end of last year that haven't materialised.

Perhaps he looks around him sees Glenn Johnson and thinks **** this.

That would leave us 2 days to find and sign a suitable replacement, hardly realistic.

Fair enough.

We'll agree to disagree because I don't think it's going to take anything like 5 years to rebuild the squad.

With Suarez already likely to be signing, we're 4 players off being able to challenge imo, 5 if Torres leaves.

Come on seriously, 4 players off and you're chasing Adams?

Kenny either doesn't have any money or he thinks your squads is a way off 4 players. 4 players maybe if this was Football Manager and you could turn off injuries and fatigue. ;)

Obviously the most damaging thing with torres is the signal it sends out to further top signings.

Add a top class CB, LB, CM and wide player to our squad and it looks a hell of a lot better.

Agree about Adams, however I hope and expect that it either means 1 of Lucas or Meireles could be replaced in the summer or we're going to sign a 5th CM now that we're playing a 4-3-3.

We were never likely to be able to make major improvements to the squad in this window; how often do you see major transfers in January? I'm surprised we've managed to sign Suarez and it's being suggested that we've still not given up hope of brining in 1 of either Young or N'Zogbia this window, regardless of Torres staying or going.

If that's the case, then he shouldn't have said in an interview that he was happy with the Dalglish appointment and felt the changes in training had already been beneficial.

Perhaps he was promised things to stay at the end of last year that haven't materialised.

If that's the case then he shouldn't have said 3 weeks ago that he wanted to see out his contract and was happy to stay. What he should have said is, I want to see significant improvements in the team this transfer window or I will have to look elsewhere this month. One would think it isn't too much to ask in life for a little honesty?

I reckon he's made it's known he's unhappy and someone has just told him to do one now rather than wait until the summer. Whether it's NESV, Dalglish or the usual pair we don't know but I honestly don't think he would've handed in his transfer request now if something major didn't kick off.

Can't see it myself. And like with the Rafa stuff, don't automatically couple Gerrard with Carragher.

As I said before, he wants to go because he's been lied to for the past 2 years and you can't blame him. The timing just makes me believe this has been agreed with Chelsea weeks ago; we can blame him for that and the fact he wants to go to Chelsea though.

Well, thats the reason why he has played like a donkey for most of the season so far, he really doesnt want to be there.

Just like I suspect its the same for Rooney at united, the pair of them should **** off and and learn some humility.

While I suspect Torres is currently being badly advised by his agent, like Rooney was, it's far easier to understand why Torres wants to leave.

He's been promised the world by various owners and directors over the past 2 seasons. The irony is that these promises finally look like being fulfilled.

edit: and to people saying we should sell him now. If (and a big if) these financial fair play regulations are the real deal; selling Torres in the summer instead of now will be massively advantageous to us.
