Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

Ok, so I like the glossy panel, it looks awesome etc etc. However I see, for me, some issues: height adjustment and input lag.

I initially looked at the Dell U2711, with the main sticking point being the input lag (I like my FPS games) so the Hazro's lag, although better is a little disappointing. Maybe I'm looking for too much in a screen. With respect to the height adjustment, does the monitor sit at a comfortable height on the desk? Looking at the image against the Apple Cinema display, it seems pretty much on par?

I guess what I'm trying to ask is if you had £680 ready to buy the Dell U2711, would you save yourself £180 and buy the Hazro instead?

I'm in the same exact boat as you are.
Here in The Netherlands the U2711 is 573 pounds so I'm wondering if I should go for that or save a LIIIIIIIIIITLE bit and go for the Hazro...
Also the input lag screens did scare me a bit, both the U2711 and Hazro... so is gaming on these screens ok? :)
 
Well the review mentions that the two internal scalers are to "blame" for the higher input lags. In the WA vs WC comparison, it says that the cut down WC will have no scalers so maybe this will cut down the input lag?!?

It certainly looks a good screen for £499 (I mean the Dell U2410 costs £450 at best).

Another thing to consider is warranty support. I like Dells approach of at door service but it seems there is a price premium to cover that anyway.

Overall, I think Hazro have hit a sweet spot.

5W speakers are still rare in monitors and shouldn't be confused with 2W versions commonly seen. The 5W [TV grade] speakers are an excellent addition for all those that don't have access to expensive external speaker setups. If speakers are not needed, you could channel the sound via SPDIF or stereo outputs.

Possibly as all monitors which have complex scaling built in don't feature very well in lag tests. Relative to competition, we have a 27" model which competes well and perhaps for FPS gaming, the HZ27WC would be a better option. TFTCentral will review this soon.

You have created a fantastic monitor, and compliments to your styling department. I'm not sure I personally need the scalers or even the extra inputs, so the WC model just might be my ideal screen!! If not then I think, I might just have to buy the HZ27WA :D
 
Hazro are launching the HZ27WA with a staggering promotional price of £499 (inc VAT and delivered)...

...the final price of the DVI-only HZ27WC has not been finalised yet, the promotional price is expected to be ~£399 (inc VAT and delivered) which is again incredibly low. This puts the screens at a very competitive price point in the 27" IPS market, and makes them well worth a look if you are considering a similarly priced 24" model even.

If the lag is down to normal levels on the DVI only version (10-15ms or lower), it is going to be so very, VERY hard to ignore. Competitive is the wrong word, it annihilates the competition!

Not sure if I'm 100% convinced. Was so looking forward to WA but I think I over-hyped it for myself. The price-point is great, but tbh I prefer the WC; however, the lack of connections on that one is off-putting. If there was an HDMI connection as well then I'd be putting my order in straight away.
 
By the way, any hi-res shots of the Wa, i can't really see them well enough in the review or press shots to get an idea of what it really looks like. You tube vids are always good for this.

And it's a real shame it doesn't have a better stand.

*EDIT*, ah, Hazro will be selling an arm for around £30-40, looking forward to seeing that. Send badass one for testing on the DVI version :)

i would certainly expect the HZ27WC to have a lower input lag without the scalers. this will hopefully bring it more in line with the HZ30Wi and HZ27WB which didn't feature one either.

i think the addition of a scaler is a good idea though here given it's a multimedia screen. if it didn't have it, people would only moan about the lack of aspect ratio control options, especially when using external devices, games consoles, DVD players etc. the 26.3ms average lag is not exactly a lot really. more than some other models admittedly, but not the 50 - 60ms that you can sometimes see on other screens.

The change to a tilt only stand was again to save money, but at least Hazro will offer a fully adjustable stand as an extra. I would expect it's the same as the stand used on the HZ27WB but have yet to confirm. The height of the monitor is about right for normal viewing for those who asked and the tilt range is decent.

I'll see if i can get some more pictures together this week, although with it being very reflective it's hard to get good photos without the surroundings being visible in the glass reflection :)
 
Hmm now I have a conundrum
I have a u27 not getting rid of that it's fab, but I could sell the u24 as its got amazing warranty left and get this 27 as a second screen

No osd? That's crossed off the list, I need to look through this thread see if the warranty situation has changed again
