Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica are to be re-released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, it has been revealed.

The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu (via Andriasang) has confirmed that Capcom will be packaged on a compilation disc titled Resident Evil Survival Selection.

Although no new features were mentioned, both titles will be remastered in HD while Resident Evil 4 will receive PS2 and Wii bonus chapter Separate Ways.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica was originally released on Dreamcast in 2000, while Resident Evil 4 debuted on GameCube in 2005.

Last year, Capcom said it was hoping to release a sixth game in the series "as soon as possible". A fifth motion picture is also in development for September 2012.

Would love to see Code Veronica remade like the first Resi Evil game was for the Gamecube but it looks like both will just be getting the HD graphics treatment

Yay, I absolutely adore Resi 4, I'd love to play through it again with HD graphics, and perhaps using the Resi 5 control scheme. It was an epic game and I can't wait :D

Classic style RE (1 -> C:Veronica) are the best by far :) cannot wait! Was an amazing game on the dreamcast.

SPOILER

The password at the end of the game was an epic lol moment from me too ;) the joy when i realised it was looking at me in the face the whole time.

Why are they not doing resident evil 2. WHY WHY WHY WHY *stamps foot*

It was the best! And it never even got a gamecube remake.

I iz not happy bunny =(

Resi4 is the first residence I did so don't feel I need to do it again.

Cv needed a big upgrade with camera angles etc but my guess is they will leave it and sell the package on the premise of 4 being the reason to buy with Cv simply being bonus content.

I can forgive what you have just said about camera angles, due to the fact that you are a Resi noob and joined the series after the best games had already came out. The way the camera was in the first three and CV adds so much to the immersion and fear factor, I never found it impeded me in combat, only added to the atmosphere of the game and of course in the PS1 days the pre-rendered background meant they could be much more detailed.

Ugh not Resi 4, it doesn't need it and it was the mark of the series downfall.

They should be doing 2 and 3 alongside Code Veronica, not 4. You know, when them games were actually scary and had cool enemies.

For me it is 2 > Code Veronica > 1 > 3 >>>>>>> 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>5

It didn't need an upgrade at all, they could modernised it by making it play more like Dead Space but keep some sense of atmosphere and scares in. 4 and 5 were completely lacking these things and the combat managed to be worse than in past games. Enemies are so floaty, no idea what Capcom were thinking.

4 could have been great if they stuck to what it was like in this early version.

Excellent Veronica only just loses out to RE2 as the best Resident Evil. I hope the rest are on the way :D.

had not seen that vid before, looks like the game was quite far along in development going by that video..shame

id like to see the game going back to this viewpoint, re4 & re5 just had no scares to them at all :(

I got residence the early ones for my PSP when I had that (don't ask). The first level made no sense - it was like the ability to aim was zil and I ended up punch up that seemed unwinnable. I repeated 4-5 times, gave up and never returned.

The upgrade I'm talking about is like metal gear solid 3 subsistence addind real 3dcam.

Its not that the current camera means you don't get the fear factor. But they are definitely arkward to aim reliably.

Having 'dodgy' controls added to the game imo, the sense of trying to escape but your almost unable to :p

"remastered in HD " thats a fancy word for port :(

I wonder if they will be released as one or as 2 games
