I will keep an eye on that thread!! This is my 1st android phone and I don't want to litter the main thread with so many questions! If you can cover how to change the 4 main icons at the bottom (is that the launcher?) that would be good.

None of those suggestions have the notification controls like rp2000 wants, at least, afaik. Have nice widgets though.

Are you using the stock launcher or a 3rd party one (LauncherPro, ADW Launcher, Go Launcher EX)?

Stock, I don't really understand all this Launcher stuff, yet. I guess TouchWiz is the launcher on mine, but having not used other Android phones, i cannot figure out which parts of the interface I am using are Android and which bits are TouchWiz.

Thanks for this. Just rooted and installed the battery calibrator after installing KE7 back on. When running the calibrator its showing 50% and 3920mv which to me signals the calibration is well out???
 
sods law! the first sammy was unlocked and now this one is locked arghghgh, rooted and flashed, but dont fancy that guide on xda, which is the best bet to get unlocked fast? i dont mind paying

What are you going to do with the blocked one? Send it back or just keep it?

When I turn my screen back on (using the power or home buttons), there is a couple of seconds display till I see the unlock screen. Is this normal?

While I'm talking about the lock screen. I guess if you have a password/pattern lock you can't see any live information? The default one only seems to show a clock when you turn off security, but even if I had a custom lock screen with loads of live info, it would be rendered useless by applying password protection (because as soon as I enter the password I would go to the home screen).

This is a power saving feature from Samsung apparently. It loads up the widgets on your screen before or something. If you have it connected to mains, it wont do it.
