i think fabregas would only leave if arsenal failed to get cl football. next season will be extremely tough to get into the top 4 and arsenal may easily find themselves in the mix with liverpool and spurs.
be interesting to see how city fair in the chase for top 4 too as it could quite easily fall apart for them, same for spurs who could find themselves stamping no better than 6th.
Pretty sure that's rolled out by Spurs/Liverpool/City fans (recently) every season - next season is always going to be the 'tough' one for Arsenal :p

As has been said the 'problem' for Barca is that Fabregas seems to have a huge amount of respect for Arsenal and perhaps more so for Wenger, so his position is yes he would like to go to Barca, but first and foremost only if the price is right for the club. It's not like he is being forced to play hoof and chase for Stoke either is it.

If Wenger left, then it wouldn't surprise me if Fabregas hopped off right after tbh.

I would see Modric sold if it meant we got Falcao in.

If instead, and I'm 80% certain this will now happen, we sell Modric and 'replace' him with Scott Parker, my wrists will form new lakes in the area.

Our transfer window to consist of:

Friedel
Upson
Parker

Would be just typical Redknapp. :p

weren't the supposed enquires we'd made about parker null and void though or was that false information?
we need sandro to really show what he's made off next season as (let's not forget) there were times when we were overrun in cm even with modric and sandro (on occassion) seemed more 'suited for the battle' than modric.

TBF, Arsenal's last 3 finishes have been 4th, 3rd, 4th. The suggestion has never been that farfetched. :D

Supposedly. But with our interest in January confirmed, I'm not so naive to believe that we won't make another enquiry during this window.

Just read on the CAF that story about Modric wanting to join Chelsea, to say it has ruined my evening would be an understatement.

Hope Spurs stay strong.... that is unless we show interest and Luka declares he wants to join us...

Turning out to be a ****y day, what with this and the rumours that City have grabbed Sanchez (even if we dont need him)

We haven't grabbed anything yet, that's still fully in the wind as far as anyone can tell. Lot of talk about all offers being accepted and it being up to the player, in which case he's more than likely Barca bound.

He wasn't talked around.

He made it clear he wanted to leave and left it in Arsenal's hands to decide whether they'll accept a bid from Barca.

He was talked around, that is clear as day.

Henry, offers, came down to it a big talk happened, he was persuaded to stay another year, he left for half the value next season.

Vieira same deal, how did we persuade RVP to stay, more empty promises, what happened last season the "big meeting" where Wenger persuaded Fabregas to give it more time, he then went on to sign a bunch of crap defenders and no one useful and had a pretty pathetic season, get to joke cup final by playing stronger teams than ever before, face one of the weakest teams in a final we've met in 15 years, lose due to the crap player Wenger bought after making promises about improving........ while losing the best CB we've had since Adam's.

Anyone who thinks he's worth the same is kidding themselves. Wenger made promises, which going on previous promises amount to "don't go this year and I won't make it hard to leave next time".

I don't care about losing Fabregas, infact it might be the best thing to happen to the club, Fabregas is so far ahead of anyone else Arsenal have, RVP included, that without him in the team we're liable to drop out the top 4 and realistically seems like the only way the "trust Wenger" brigade will give up, and the board/owners aswell.

While Fabregas drags Theo/Song/Diaby/Sagna's rubbishness into a champs league spot Wenger seems to be safe, Cesc goes, we'll have a very rubbish season unless we get a new flukey 17yr old Barca player who can be almost as good.

Fabregas also deserves to win things, for Spain you can literally see the difference between Spain with, and without Fabregas, he's freaking awesome, the only reason some people scoff when you say he's better than Iniesta/Xavi, is he's been stuck at Arsenal in a pants team.

Cesc needs to go and Arsenal need Wenger to go, Cesc leaving is probably the failure Arsenal need to get shot of Wenger and rebuild.

Don't get me wrong, my ideal outcome is Wenger goes, we get in someone half competant, Fabregas stays to see what changes happen, we clean the dross out and replace it with a mix of potentially good people, and actually good people, and see if improving makes him want to stay.

AS I've pointed out time, and time, and time again, its NOT that Diaby/Denilson/Chamakh/Theo/etc/etc aren't good enough, its that Wenger simply can't see they aren't good enough. If he had sold them, and bought a young guy with potential and they turned out to be crap, thats one thing, at least its trying, but he thinks what we have is top quality and isn't looking for replacements, thats why Arsenal aren't improving but getting worse.

To be fair unless Wenger starts spending money it can only be a matter of time before that prediction comes to fruition

Yeah, that's the other thing that's said every year too :p

With an uninjured Vermaelen and a fitter Chamakh that's two decent players that weren't there for most of last season. Wilshire looks great and will no doubt continue. Ramsey to come back in. Not saying they don't need to sign players, cover in GK, a CB, a DM, maybe a striker? But adding Verm & Chamakh to a side which made top 4 extremely comfortably doesn't indicate a massive need to spend a load of money to me - to win something next year then yes, but to make top 4? Nah.

I dunno, yeah the top 4 is a bit more competitive with Liverpool looking more of a threat towards the end of the season but then IMO the rest of the league looks like it won't be as strong this year as it was last year somehow - I wouldn't rank QPR, Norwich or Swansea as tough as say Birmingham, West Ham or Blackpool even. Wigan will likely be worse. Villa minus Young, new manager and don't seem to have much funds available. Same with Newcastle. Fulham maybe tougher under Jol? Sunderland useless since January etc.

Obviously massively early days to call it as there's plenty of transfers to come, but my initial feeling is that the PL will be an easier ride for the top 4-5 teams than normal, which maybe suits Arsenal as they seems to balls it up in the games against the teams below them :p

Brilliant - the 'best' thing that can happen to Arsenal is to lose their best player, lose their manager that all the players look up to and drop out of the Champions League. Crikey if you are an Arsenal fan DM I'd hate to see what you think about a team you don't like. :p

Must not be that bad you have been chasing him for the past six months

Others News Sevilla is after sideshowbob

Well considering he would be lucky to make 10 games in the EPL im not too fussed never seen him play either guess i will now im sure we could sign better players hopefully i.e Mata

Newcastle can come in for Joe Cole if they want too we dont want him either :p

:D

Do you think you go after N'Zogbia now? Been a top player past two season?

Winger we need to get is Mata not that ive said it before hehe, I dont want Downing if Mata is available to get but Downing would still least offer us width which we dont have even if he isnt very good.

Mata would be a very good signing for you can play a number of roles very well. Behind the strikers as a striker and on the wing. The guy got bags of talent

Yup were linked with him but thats all so far but saying that were linked with nearly every player below 25 at the moment however he is the only one i want us to pursue more than any other.

The Zapta guy said he is talking to us too but again never seen him play a new CB is needed but for defense a left back is far more urgent for us to get.

Had a very poor season 08/09 season was even droped from the team used as a rightback etc but before that was a beast got back to his good form last season

I woke up the this morning to find headlines of "Modric tells spurs he wants to sign for Chelsea"

Surely not?
I thought no spurs players would jumping jumping shift ahead of the prospect of playing in the channel 5 cup next year.

Modric this week, and then a tedious, overblown Bale to City transfer come the middle of july.
