Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

Yes but who's to know I didn't find the item on Frenchtarts server(without telling anyone about sp)?, when does a new player stop being a new player and by what level? are you suddenly banned because you found some good kit.

You're right there is no way to enforce it I suppose. I don't think it needs enforcing either. I just HOPE that people don't "spoil the magic" by bringing in higher level items which normally take a while to find out about :)

Like I said in previous post, keeping it noob-friendly is more fun I think, at least for now.

Or you are not allowed to give out higher level gear to new players?, am i not allowed to join the server and go build my own castle?. Aslong as i don't take any items off the server then that's fair no?

And yet that is exactly what I did on my first play through before I ever got any good items? So who are you to say that I shouldn't do any of those things (I actually haven't done many of those on the server anyway).

The game is an open world (i.e. play it however you want to), I don't have to play it YOUR way just because you say so

You still haven't answered why you did it on the MP server instead of doing it offline where no-one would have known or cared.

I agree with this. I don't see higher level items as a problem as long as they don't spoil anyone else's game. When I first started playing on the last server most people already had these items - it didn't in any way reduce my fun of the game and I actually really enjoyed teaming with these people.

The only time people should be removed is if they are actively griefing other players.

As long as you dont bring items in to the server so you get a headstart or anything from offline or other servers i.e what you use in frenchs server has been found and collected/made on frenchs server only.

Most likely because he had a NEW character, which again followed the rules!

The rules were set and followed

On every previous server i tried to report ANY person destroying someone elses work, we even went through the map trying to find out who destroyed my 10hr+ design. People seem to forget that :o

Then that's a new rule which Frenchtart did not set, personally i should be allowed on the server aslong as i don't interfer with other players?.

If i join a wow server i go and find people of my level, high level players should not be giving out loot to new members!

Thanks for sending the password FrenchTart.

Will go on later with my new character specifically for that server :p

No it is kind of a given when he said new character, i.e newly created char which is from his server and started with nothing but what is given when connected to his server, items from anywhere else does not fall in the new character rule and is against the rule of a new character.

This tbh - I thought the whole point was to get OcUKers together in one place?

And to repeat myself once again for those who are too lazy to read my other posts, it is a new character, created after the new patch and I am not in anyway there to grief anyone else

It really isn't.

Edit: Apologies for the double post.

I'm not going to say "it shouldn't be allowed" because it's impossible to enforce anyway. Just remember that as soon as new players see you with full molten armour, flying around and building massive tunnels for them, it spoils it in a way. I'm not saying don't do it.. it's your right to play it how you want; just bare it in mind that's all :)

I'll just say to new players: try not to accept too many handouts because it just progresses you too quickly and it almost ruins the fun! Take it from 1st hand experience ;)

Well I followed the rules and yes the goblin army was wrong for that i said i was sorry, nothing more needs to be said from me. :)

Yes it is. The pattern here seems to be that most people who understood the term 'New characters' to mean 'new characters with no transferring of items so we can all start again from scratch' have been getting along just fine and the few people who took it to mean 'new characters but anything goes' have basically come on to do anything but play as a 'community' and simply do there own thing.

There is 1 slight problem atm though. Where the hell are all the NPCs? Theres a nurse in 1 of the houses near spawn but the rest of them are nowhere in sight.

Most likely someone built some rooms far away from the spawn which doesn't really help new players :p

The house has lots of rooms in it (which i suspect aren't big enough...) and I've ran around both sides of spawn and found nothing.
