What is it that makes people hate Apple so much?

Is this thread supposed to be ironic? Maybe you should go back and look at your first posts in Mobiles Robbo and you can answer your own question if you cast your mind back. ;)

Office works best on Windows. Hmmm.

I never really rated the iPhone much until the iPhone 4. That's not hard to understand, is it?

At that point I was comparing the iPhone 3G to the HTC Desire, and the Desire was better overall, especially with the LED screen and Android was a nice novelty. HTC Sense widgets were excellent but at the end of the day, they (widgets in general) are often dodgy and serve no real purpose.

You could simply say I've grown out/tired of it?

Many things I liked about Android were partly on the condition it would improve, and to be honest, it hasn't. Not unless you enjoy doing meaningless crap with your phone :p

I'll make one thing clear though, I'm not saying Android is bad, but the Mobiles section has turned into a 'My way or the highway' sort of thing, not just against Apple, but against anyone that chose something other than a Galaxy S II at the moment for example. People base everything entirely on reviews/benchmarks though, so they can be forgiven for thinking that to some extent.

I may (or may not) have started that off to some degree a long time ago, but what is it they say? "Once I was blind, but now I see"

Ironic or not, it's still an excellent question. You're going to forever hold this against me though, aren't you? :p

:D

What on earth are you talking about? Android is probably the best Mobile OS out there, it does everything you need it to and bit more. I suppose you have no idea about the ROM scene for the Galaxy S2 (phone i have). You can stick on any custom OS you like on and it tweaked beyond anything you can experiance on an iPhone. I love having active moving wallpapers on my phone, and lets not forget Flash :D

I don't agree with everything Robbo says, but maybe you should pop into the mobile forum as he is very active in there. He manages to post both pro-Apple and pro-Android stuff without sounding like the fanboy you appear to be.

Because it's the same arguments over and over and over. It's tired and you and i know that neither side will change their mind in the end. What's the point? My arguments have not been shot down in flames at all! The excuses to counter any of them are so transparent but if they're such apple fanboi's then you'll never convince them otherwise

Ie. I wanted to use MS office on a Mac a while back, i want to throw the ****ing thing out of the window after 10mins. On the PC it's as smooth as silk and someone thinks it runs better on OSX? Lol....just lol

I do IT support for a largish company (1300 users) all have either MS Office 2007 or 2010, barely any problems with them in the last 12 months, any arose was server related, but MS Office is stable as a rock

So everyone in here is an Apple fanboy? What are you basing that on, the fact they don't agree with you? Sounds like yet another generic and ridiculous generalisation.

I don't HATE apple at all. They make ok products. But i don't like is the following

1) Using an Apple product treats you like a n00b and doesn't let you do stuff off the beating track as easily as other things do. It's there way or not at all

People who use the words noob are noobs themselves!

2) Their products try to overtakes everything you do and dumps blotware on your PC (looking at you iTunes, hgug!)
Just lol

3) 70% of people buy Apple because everyone else buys Apple, not really understanding what they are getting or what to use it for. Basically i dislike the sheep mentality of the users.
LOL again!

4) People (and Steve jobs etc) proclaiming there products are the best when they're nowhere near it. They are fine products and they do what they're suppose to do....and do it very well. But that's it, they're just functional devices, they're better examples out there of mobiles and tablets from Samsung. And that's why they're chasing them with lots of vigor
Evidence please? and LOL LOL LOL again and again and again!

There is no point all products on the market do extremely well. So stop debating this instant.

You call that largish? ha ha it's tiny!

Dont know. I hate the people that use them as status symbols to show off with but not the product or company itself.

Always thought Apple computers were overpriced hardware wise and lacking on software. Dont hate them tho.

Tho I did hate the iPhone 1 as it was neutered compared to other smartphones like the N95 I had when it came out.

iPhone 1 : No 3G, no picture messaging (a real WTF! in 2007), no video recording

Im of the same opinion but all the way to when iOS 3/3GS got released - I just couldnt understand why things like copy/paste were missing - I was VERY vocal about no MMS, something that in the US wasnt missed as they are far more used to using email but the rest of world expect as a standard...

ps3ud0

That's my point you idiot. You said:

Robgmun said:
So i have to completely go over to Apple products if i want a smooth seemless experiance? Hum, you see my point?

And I said that the same is essentially true of Office, as that runs best on Windows. I never said it ran better on OS X. It seems you can't read.

Didnt care too much about copy and paste as Ive not had it on my previous Nokia phones.

I ended up with an iPhone at the 3G stage just before MMS became reality. My N95 was dying and doing media work the screen on the iPhone 3G just suited me.

Now got an iPhone 4 and have it covered by a £3 Nintendo Gameboy case :D

Elitism and a total misunderstanding why other products are better for other people. Some people think everyone should be just like them and that everyone's needs and wants are just like theirs and as such buying apple or Microsoft or other such brands, must be out of some illogical reason rather than because it's the best product for their needs.
