Supplements the debate/discussion thread

anyone confirm whether MP Wheys non-flavoureds - in general - have Sucralose in them or not ? I've been taking non-flavoured Impact Deluxe and had assumed it didn't

but I had a smoothie last night with far less fruit etc (as had run out) - so whey and not a lot else - and tasted and smelt very sweet to me- then I had a sniff of the powder and it smelt very sweet too

or is that just the normal smell of Whey ?

surely unflavoured should be just that right ?

probably has some sort of flavouring to make it taste like plain milk, i would think whey on its own tastes horrible.

Too many girls in this thread talking about flavour! Man up and drink the unflavoured stuff :p

I still buy unflavoured Whey but All in Ones Ive used have been flavoured.

I think as far as Whey goes and branding, I imagine Myproteins True Whey is the premium stuff they do similar to Gaspari Myofusion etc? If thats the case then the price difference is a mere couple of pounds.

My point was that people only seem to buy the expensive stuff because of taste, so they should stop being little girls and drink the cheaper stuff :p

Aye probably around here, But I think most people (not too clued up/naive) buy branded stuff cos they believe all the marketing slogans and dont realise that Whey etc is just pretty much all the same and that protein is not Anabolic Steroids little brother :)

massprotein.co.uk

You guys may want to try out http://www.massprotein.co.uk/

This is my sisters and her husbands company. They own TwentyfirstCentury Leisure in Longport Stoke-on-Trent (she has worked there for 20 years plus) and have set up this company to try and give better deals on Protein etc.

I use USN Pure Protein IGF-1 and MuscleTech Creakic at the moment and am pleased with them.

its only a few pounds extra, i am under no illusion that myofusion is significantly better, but it does have high quality ingredients in it and is a blend rather than straight whey. it also tastes amazing and mixes extremely well. i would rather pay that few extra quid to get something which tastes nice.

like if i go to a restaurant and see they have a beef burger for £5 and a lamb burger for £7, i wouldn't hesitate to buy the lamb burger. although nutritionally they would both probably be roughly the same.

i can see your point though, if taste doesn't matter to you, then your an idiot for buying branded stuff. so long as the non branded stuff is of a high quality which it normally is.

As in caffeine inhibiting the effects of creatine

i know that caffeine is bad for you, it increases the stress on your bodies system, increasing cortisol levels, which is bad.

so yeah caffeine is bad and will inhibit the effects of a lot of things, whether or not it does something specific to creatine though im uncertain of, but is caffeine not a diuretic and creatine is trying to keep your muscles hold more water.

so yeah they would counteract each other in that sense.

Caffeine is a diuretic, but if your having say, a coffee for example, you will be taking in more water than it makes you pee out.

In terms of its use and effect on creatine, both are in most pre workout sups.
Think the myprotein no-xplode copy (pulse) im using at the minute has the equiv of about 3-4 redbull in it.

There was a discussion on muscle talk about this recently.

General concensus was its just one of these new myths floating around.
Then again, thats just a bunch of 'bros' on a message board, so take it for what it is.

Some routines, like leangains, encourage caffeine usage during fasting to up your heart rate and help with hunger and it does not seem to effect the followers of that.

Slow release at breakfast and before bed
Fast releasing after work out

Anybody recommend a protein that combine fast and slow releasing protein?

if on tight budget myofusion, has micellar casein in it but the amount is uknown, so it's probably not be a lot, it's a blend of 4 different proteins so they should all release at slightly different times.

otherwise XF Ultra Peptide 2.0 has 51% Casein in its blend but its £27 for 910g.

i would take myofusion during the day and XF UP 2.0 solely at night.

there is only 1 place in the UK that sells XF

http://www.powerbody.co.uk/brand-xtreme_formulations,146.html

but their myofusion price is expensive, get myo from cheapuksupplements or monstersupplements

My mate is finding his impact whey is making him feel sick, what's the best alternative? Is it Isolate that some people find is better if impact makes them feel sick?
