As long as they are priced within about £10 of the equivalent SB processors then I can't see the price being to much of an issue in choosing between SB and IB.

Edit : Gibbo, what time will they be available to buy from you tomorrow?

Is this still what people think after reading everything? I suppose bad news travels fast and its cool to be part of the mob diss'ing Ivy. In fact the evidecne is that it's easy enough to get to 4.5 on IB if that's all you want out of life. Its's just a number anyway.

If someone can "save" £30 on SB somewhere (and why haven't they already its been out a year) then that's your choice but honestly people just seem to want a reason to stick with SB whatever the evidence.

The evidence is that the IB needs a lot of work to get it clocked stable.
Also, we are not sure if the overclocks of 4.5Ghz for the IB are stable 24/7 (if only because they haven't yet been released)

SB is a stable platform and we know a lot about it. Tried and tested. If SB is cheaper why would anybody buy IB (see my earlier post as to why you would buy IB).

If you do not intend to overclock, then certainly buy IB. Why? Because at stock, IB is faster. Simple as that.

If somebody can save £30 by buying SB, they can use that money on another component. Why pay extra for a CPU which performs identically to the cheaper CPU?

Ah well IB is overpriced no doubt. Moving to 22nm is actually all about more chips per wafer for Intel not about bending the laws of physics that you'd hear on the internet.
This SB vs IB argument is getting very tiring though and hopfully will be over when SB is no longer for sale. Perhaps we should agree to differ if you can accept I'm getting a HD4000 gfx and lower power for which I will pay a price premium.
 
Because its the latest tech!. Most people just want the latest every other year and be done with it. Dont care if it is £30 more, I spent that on a chinese last night (Twas nice too!).
It's just progress!, And i can get rid of that "Maybe i should have" feeling for the next year or two, instead of saving a very few pounds. Anything over 4.5 which i hope for 24/7 will be pretty pointless in the real world anyway.
Just my opinion.

I did address this in my original post (ie. people who just want to have it).

In any case, the best thing to do is wait for user opinions/reviews on the CPU before making any conclusive judgements on IB. As of now, there is very limited information about the CPU.

Well,OCUK seem to think so. That and the 3570 both have. I wonder if the 3550 is a mistype as it is shown as having a lower gpu.

Edit -

Nope there is a mistype the 3570K is the only CPU with the HD4000 graphics according to INtel. The other 2 have the HD2500 graphics
