I honestly thought that a few retailers would have chanced it and put them on sale today, for delivery tomorrow. Intel must be leaning on them heavily. Never seen anything like it.

I disagree. There are plenty of people who will gladly pay more for Ivy.
Have a read of some of the threads in the CPU forum and you will see that there are people who cannot wait to get their hands on IB, even if the price is higher.

Judging by most online stores there is still plenty of stock of Sandy chips. Can't see them dropping the price much, can see Ivy being more expensive in that case.

I second this! It's 5 years since I bought my processor so I could do with a great deal to get me going on Ivy Bridge.

I have been without a pc for so long now, and the last week has nearly killed me!!! Can't wait to jump to a 4.2ghz ivy and 8GB ram instead of this 1.5ghz 1GB laptop

When I am using my laptop, its like purgatory. I cannot understand how people use type on laptop keyboards. They are like toys for kids.

I think I'd be quite happy with 4.5ghz @ 1.2v. I've got the same cooler as him so hopefully it's possible.

Nice. 4.5 is what I am looking for. It seems tha the 3770k clocks better with lower volts than the 3750k from what I have seen so far.

I posted on price forum - but considering dropping prices of hex-cores - and if starting afresh (new mobo) would people think its worth (assuming 3770k will be £260+) - about £160 more for a 3930k system ?
usage is mainly gaming with a vid of photo/video editing

We shall be launching IvyBridge at introductory special pricing, were reversing the usual trend of a new product having a high price then dropping, we shall do the opposite, low price which shall go up.
As such 3770k is same price as 2700k, see our website and 3570k more or less same price as 2500k, these are retail and we shall only be selling retail to start with.
