Best non-raw denim jeans? Willing to pay up to around £50, looking for a slim fit and dark indigo colour.

I would love to try raw denim, but I'm a little worried - I wear lots of light shirts tucked in as well as some white sneakers from time to time and I've heard about staining. A lot of people also seem to make them sound (probably unnecessarily) complicated.

If you are in London, go to Sacoor Brothers for shirts... Lovely and they often have 3 for £100 in there - which is great as they are lovely- make TM Lewin, CT, etc look like cheap tat :)

Also their suits are nice... I paid £530 for 2 suits and three shirts in there a few weeks ago - a bargain for the quality you get IMO :)

You do have to watch out for staining, my latest pair of Strike Gold 2109 unsanforized denim bleed like mad.
It's definitely something to be aware of.

Just used the nice 30% off at Asos to get a
pgeproduct.aspx
and a pair of Asos brand chinos & 'chino' shorts. From £80 down to £56. Very nice.

Not sure if I'll like the chinos so they may go back, haven't worn chinos / khakis style trouser for ~6 years, only wear jeans (really it's only one pair :o) never used to wear them so maybe a bit of a reversal is coming up. The chinos are mainly for the new trainers I'm getting though! :D And after nearly 2 hours of trying to decide what to get I need sleep! :(

What is this, adjective repetition today?

Having just spent £205 on 2 Polo's, a V Neck and a Driving Cap at RalphLaurenUK I found myself wondering what the general opinion on Ralph Lauren clothing was on these boards?

Classic 'preppy' clothing deserving of it's price tag?

Overpriced tosh with all the 'class' slowly whittled away by the hoards of peasants now sporting it's logo?

Do the polos still have the horrifically large RL logo on them? Ralph Lauren was last current in the 80's, for me anyway. The suits were fantastically well made, the 'Polo' Eau de Toilette was exceptional, unparalleled except by some of the finer Chanel scents, and the silk ties were distinctive without being either quirky or haute couture. Cotton socks - often with the RL monogram sown on the inside of the sock - were superior to any other fashion house's offering yet not out of reach for the average pocket.

Of course, RL is best known for defining and constantly redefining the preppy look. Pastels change to strong, bright colours and back to pastels again. RL plays with fabrics and material, the detail on the collar of the indigo-stained button-down 100% cotton ply shirt a particular favourite.
