It still seems pretty straightforward. If newco rangers get fired straight into the SPL, there HAS to be strings attached for such preferential treatment. On the other hand, start at the bottom like any other new club, the slate is wiped clean and they can work their way up.

I can also see major cash flow problems for them as the fans are unlikely to buy season tickets til they know where they are going to play. I wouldn't want to pay £500 to see 3rd div football.

Doncaster and Ogilvie must surely go.

Time also must be running out for this newco to get sorted for next season. We are what 4? 5? weeks away from kickoff of next season. This all needs sorted very quickly.

Wouldn't be surprised if no form of Rangers is in any league next season.

As should Regan. He is a joke and an embarrassment.

major cash flow problems for rangers in the third div;), watch spl teams fold mate ,sky does want to pay x amount for spl dross.

Well if it makes them all live within their means then that can't be a bad thing. If a clubs finances are that precarious that they can't afford to lose the money Rangers bring in then they deserve a kick up the butt. Rangers themselves have certainly found out the hard way.
SPL dross? I reckon the old firm are just floating on top of the turd tank.

Sad to see Rangers going... SPL is dead.

It is probably that sorta self centered, "we're too big to fail" attitude that makes people dislike Rangers so much.
Mind you, SPL has been dead for years due to the old firm dominance.

i dont know if you realise this but plenty of rangers fans want to start again in divison 3, the ramifications of this wont just be suffered by rangers alone and in many ways it seems the best option for us ,without being vindictive whatsoever.

Good statement released by Clyde today http://www.clydefc.co.uk/news/2012/06/30/4134/ on the farce that is occuring just now.

If 99% of fans want Ranger's Newco to start in Division 3 and a large majority of old Rangers fans want to aswell, why are we going through all these last ditch cons to get them into Division 1 / SPL?

Simples the spl chairmen think they can last one season without Rangers and are also trying to save sky deal. It's already been reported Rangers to division three costs them 16 million a year. Like we all said Turkeys voted for Christmas under pressure from their fans. St Mirren chairman already said wage bill needs cut no new players in and backroom staff will go to try and balance the books.

It's the balancing act between keeping the fans happy and keeping the money.
It can't be both I'm afraid.

I do agree with you Fletch, Rangers will be out of Europe for at least three years so it don't really matter what league they are in. Presumably Div 3 will mean no further sanctions and they can use the years to rebuild their squad.

I don't believe the £16 mill quoted in that shambles of a document created by that corrupt fool Ogilvie.

As for save the Sky deal, the contract is until the end of the 2016/17 season. What exactly would Sky replace SPL with anyway? Scaremongering by west coast media as usual.

Do the Rangers fans want entry into Division 3 because it is the correct thing to do or to spite the SPL clubs?

Couldn't it be both? There's probably a nice level of synchronicity for Rangers fans in that they could desire the right thing to do and because it is likely to negatively affect other clubs.

The SPL is alive. Rangers committed suicide.

The problem is the people who seem to be treating it like "Weekend at Bernies" and are pimping the Rangers corpse around everywhere pretending nothing has actually happened and everything will be ok.

the spl maybe breathing but its far from well, its already starting to implode,as for rangers we struggle on.

And so you should.

The SPL clubs are adamant about what should happen here. Lets be in no doubt about that. Cloths should be cut accordingly rather than souls being sold.

Things will change regardless of what League The Rangers are playing in next season. The damage has already been done in that respect. Letting The Rangers in through a back door will only compound that damage.

theres also the police investigation into whytes conduct at rangers,if whytes found guilty of fraud ,then this changes everything.( im aware of the time scale and how complex fraud trials are) maybe the spl should wait until it knows the outcome of the police investigation ?
