German court rules circumcision is 'bodily harm'

bell too big for its cover is the obvious one...

my friends BF was boning her (front door) and he split his foreskin she said it bled like a $£"£

Circumcision is a last resort treatment for that. A doctor will normally prescribe a steroid cream first.

All the way through, most people pointed out that it's different if done for legitimate medical reasons,

Very few if any people here are making those kind of statements towards those who have had it done for medical reasons. I certainly don't see a problem with it. It sucks that there is such negative stigma towards it for people in your situation, but it's hardly surprising when doing it for religious reasons is such a ridiculous practice.

As I said, I didn't realise how much of a sob story it came out as, but Skillmister hit the nail on the head, its the stigma that comes out because of this discussion that caused me so much grief, the fact this thread managed to bait me into replying (and trust me, i'm much more of a lurker), it just sucks massive balls to re-live the whole thing through such viscous debate. Yes I know its a forum, yes it is the internet, sure i should just turn it off, but I figured at least it might be useful.

That's just kids being kids - bullying happens because of any difference. If someone's fat, spotty, short, ugly, dodgy teeth, etc. I understand that you were bullied as a kid, and that's terrible beyond words... but I don't see the relevance (as weird as that'll sound).

I don't really see the point in bringing up here, as though everyone's been saying things which are hurtful towards you - no one's been loling at circumcised people, in this thread... loads of times it's been mentioned how billions of men are circumcised, ffs, basically saying it's completely normal in loads of the World!

You are perfectly right, kids will be kids, and I am sure it is just my underlying feelings from my past that made me bring it up.

I am sure you can understand why reading a thread, in which there a sprinkling of misunderstanding, and heavy words being thrown around ( its kind of painful to sit here and think I am a mutilated human being ) I might become a little apathetic. Who knows, maybe I just had to tell someone.

It was my experience, related to circumcision, and how it is portrayed, including a personal account from someone outside of religious reasons, and their opinion on ritual circumcision. So take back your "ffs", personally I think its relevant, if you don't , feel free to RTM the post and we can let someone else decide.

I was circumcised for medical reasons, and my childhood was negatively impacted, not by the procedure, but by those people, like many of those in this forum who think I was "mutilated" or "have the end of my knob cut off". Thanks for making me feel like rubbish, like a mutant, like a second rate man.

Its funny, I agree it shouldn't be forced on children at all, its not right to make that decision for them. Just try engaging your brain before you you make such sweeping, upsetting generalizations in the name of making your point.

Sorry for the hurt baby rant  Considering I haven't even told my best friend , do me a favor and be gentle, it took balls. No pun intended.

My only issue with circumcision is when it is for religious reasons and a child has not consented. Where its needed it makes no difference to anyone (unless its done badly or there was something wrong anyway).

Sadly the law wouldn't have prevented people behaving like an idiot to you when you were a kid.

I think the issue shouldn't be about whether it is good, bad, enhances or reduces your fun, is preferred by women or hated by them, is religious or not, it should just be about whether it was needed and whether someone agreed to it / had an understanding or informed consent.

Unfortunately enforcing controls where religion is involved is notoriously hard to do and I am not sure its as easy as making a law.

That guy simply split his frenulum not his foreskin by the sounds of it. It's a very common problem for guys to have a tight frenulum, it can be sorted by steroid cream if it isn't too severe or under a local anaesthetic where by the doctor will cut the frenulum and stitch it together further apart and upon healing within a few weeks it will be a comfortable length.

Forced child genital mutilation is abominable and insane.

Anyone who defends it, is either lamentably ignorant, or insane.

Circumcision for medically justifiable reasons is one thing, choosing for whatever reason to be circumcised when you are old enough to be able to understand what you're doing is one thing, forcing children to have their genitals mutilated due to some twisted, oppressive religious ritual is nothing more than barbarism.

The risk of permanent injury, of death, and the pain that the child has to suffer is medically unjustifiable. And it is only supported by the morally bankrupt, the insane or the ignorant.

You aren't a mutilated human being. You are a fixed human being ;)

You didn't choose to be circumcised, you're too young to consent. Your parents chose for you.

It's not OK for religious purposes.

Bunch of xenophobes on this forum. I think all that alcohol has killed or mutated a few brain cells. Parents have an obligation to educate and carry out whatever ritual they desire on their children. How is this any different to those parents who have their child's ear pierced without their child's consent?

Jesus loves you!!!

Xenophobes? For being against a ridiculous outdated ritual, hardly. And, as has been said ear piercing is only different in the severity of it and should also not be allowed if it's forced onto the child.

Jesus loves you!!!

I doubt that.

Are you being sarcastic? I hope so.

Firstly, ear piercing is a pretty reversible process, cutting the foreskin of is NOT.

Secondly, a parent can't do whatever they desire to their child, that's be barbaric.

Madness.

And if parents want to have sex with their children? You're cool with that?

Maybe you should put down that bottle of Gin and have a rethink.
