Thats a shame.

Having seen Smite gameplay it seems like a lot less skill is involved compared to Tribes.

It appears to be hack and slash with a bit of tactical powers/wep coices and a bit of teamwork.

I wonder if it's because they intend to release Smite on consoles as well and have had to dumb down the 'skill' involved to appease pad users?

Watching Legion it is clear that O actually dictate when Matin should start his other route? Brad would you be willing to try this? What if we structured the game like this:
  • When capper respawns he calls out potential time to cap (TOC)
  • 1 offense player is responsible for coordinating with capper (lets call him Offense Captain - OC) while rest of offense is responsible for following OC
  • Once offense gets within TOC the OC tells him to go?

So they do what to keep the comp scene happy?

And yea I saw matin doing that and we can try it but I need to spend some time getting exact times down for every route.
 
Can someone give me some tips please for playing Sentinel?

I only tried it for a couple of hours but I kept finding that because you have to scope for the gun to charge, I’d only have time for one shot before they went out of sight, and when I did make the shot, it didn’t do enough damage to kill them anyway!

Where are you supposed to position yourself, near the flag base, or somewhere in the midfield? Do I have to learn common capping routes to ever be of use?

Is the phase rifle far better? On paper it sounds better, as you can leave it charging whilst un-scoped, so you can spot cappers, be aware of enemies etc.
 
Phase is better yes but you really need the energy recharge pack also. You do need to learn where cappers approach from.

The best person to ask is sneakybear (game name) as he plays sniper on our team and is a crack shot. His ocuk forum name is different. Can be found in the opening post.
 
If it makes you feel any better, I paid full price for the starter flag the other day, then saw the cheap one with extra unlocks. :)
Only been playing a week and loving it to bits. :D Uninstalled BF3 to make room for Tribes and can't see me re-installing it frankly, maybe for the new DLC.
Obviously I've been trying to ski faster, I can go over 200kmh sometimes now.
Weapons are great too, everythings brilliant. :D

Me too! I was thinking about reinstalling BF3 for the upcoming DLC but let's face it, DICE will screw things up, noobs will cry and it will be the same mess as CQ. This game is not without it's problems but it's miles away from what we have to deal with in other titles.

Jim/Brad, do you know what matches we have on the radar? How does melur intend communicate this in the furture? Brad, I too may have less time to play in the future so we need a way to coordinate regarding scrims/matches.

It's free to download and play :confused: Just load some gold, unlock the soldier class with AR, Thumper DX, Quick Draw and your ready to go. Within about 1/2 days play you will have enough XP to master all guns. In the future you can unlock other classes for bugger all....
