Breaking Bad Season 5 - Part I

It's stuck in the jar though. Loved every minute of that episode, reminded me of the 'Richard' Lost episode in terms of quality - simply great TV!!
 
I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling that BB might have peaked (for me at least) in season 4. I can't see how they will beat it. I hope they do though.

Have you even started watching season 5? I think ep5 may just be one of the best so far.

I think the reason why I rate this show so much is probably because I just stumbled across when season 1 was shown on fx. I caught it from the first episode. If you are getting into it now you will most likely be reading all the buzz on the internet and end up setting your expectations too high.

The thing that annoys me about the kid is, well what was he going to do? Go home and tell his parents? Yeah I can just imagine that conversation. It would've ended in "No more xbox for you kido"

Even still it was such an amazing episode, such amazing TV. :)

That was one of my first thoughts, I mean what did he actually see, enough to know that a crime had been committed? A crime that nobody else even knows has occurred. He's a kid, does he really know they weren't overexcited workmen? It's not like he was going to see it on the news later and put 2+2 together. But then we're not talking about a well thought out conclusion, it was a very rash decision, obviously trying to impress his bosses. In that split second you can see the logic to it (if you think like a crazy person :p) if for whatever reason the kid decided to come back to the location anytime soon, things would unravel very quickly and very badly.

The way this season has been going, I think Walt may well accept that it had to be done, even if not at first. Jesse being the moral centre of the show (as he has been for a long time imo) won't ever be ok with it, that's all but guaranteed.
 
I think I have realised why, so far, I have found this series to be a bit too 'dark'.

I don't think it's the actual happenings that have surprised me (such as the child being shot) but more the way in which Walt's dark side is so apparent. It's not just in his head anymore, it's pretty obvious and he's only concerned about number one. They way he made Jesse break up with his GF, the way he tricked Walt so he could get some time alone in the office, the lies to Walt and Marie (?). It wasn't left up for us to work out what was going in, it happened right in front of our eyes.

I guess it is just his ego taking over and perhaps I should watch S4 again to really see how he has developed and then maybe S5 will be more complete.

Going back to my "S4 might be the peak" I think that was a pretty bold (and somewhat silly) statement to make - I think I was not really thinking much about exactly what has gone on so far. Might need to watch some episodes again.

Oh, what a series this is!

I've got to say the last episode has got to be the best I've seen in a long time. This season has been great so far. How this show isn't on UK television is beyond me.:confused:
 
What do people make of the whole Jesse situation?

He has been behind both of the main concepts/ideas which got them out of the sticky situations. The magnet and the train robbery.

Is he going to take over when Walt kills Mike and then gets arrested?
