What film did you watch last night?

The Dark Knight Rises - Epic as expected - 9/10

But which part did you think was good?

A bad guy who talks like he is a 70 year old sean connery but is actually meant to be a 30-40yo villain?

A Batman that is rarely even a Batman, and when he does he uses more right hooks and upper cuts than you see in the average boxing match, but he never uses his infamous utility belt or virtually ANY props to help him.

Vehicles that look like they were designed for Demolition Man film or Judge Dredd? And how many mechanics did they have? dont worry Morgan Freeman is on the case, not only does he design these things, he writes the firmware updates as well. And he sweeps the floors at night and does everything himself?

Batman was in a hole for 3 months in some wierd chimney under the ground...with a load of arabs in arab dress?! what country are they now in, where in Gotham does this 'pit' h'exist?

I was almost expecting a montage to break out. Look at batman how he does pressups and stomach crunches. But with no food and no drink (certainly not on high protein weigh shakes) does really well to build his strength up better than everyone else inside the hole?!

And what was Baines masterplan? to die? he was hardly trying to escape. So why would you do all this in public and then try to die?

What kind of end encounter was the police charging the baddies? I felt like i was watching LOTR right there ORCS vs Elves or something. And then it escalated into a Gangs of New York, oh look theres batman in the middle of it all and Bain too. Im surprised they didnt give him a cudgel.

Bad film is bad im afraid.

Raiders of the Lost Ark. Absolute masterpiece from start to finish. Very glad to watch that after catching the last 45 minutes of the utterly atrocious Crystal Skull on Saturday.

Saw that both were on TV over the last few nights. Couldn't understand why Crystal Skull was on the night before Raiders of the Lost Ark, which as you rightly say is a classic.

The only good thing about Crystal Skull is that it more or less guarantees a fifth Indy film. Who on earth wants to see THAT film series end up like it has on Crystal Skull. I think Harrison Ford wants to a fifth Indy. They just need you know who to write a decent story.

They've shown all of them on BBC one over the past few weeks, though obviously they got interrupted by the Olympics. Not sure why they were immediately showing Crystal Skull on BBC three, but no matter!

Aye, someone who's prepared to write a proper story rather than just write 5 minutes of half baked dialogue to stitch between 90 minutes of stupid action.

Ah, didn't realise that. Got them all on DVD anyway so I'd have watched them that way rather than iPlayer.

Indeed. It still shocks me that Rotten Tomatoes gives Crystal Skull 77%!! :D:o

Raiders of the Lost Ark gets 94%. Temple of Doom 84% and Last Crusade 89%.

So Crystal Skull gets just 7% less than Temple of Doom? Yeah, think we're talking more like 70% less than Temple of Doom. :p

And the less said about Cate Blanchett's character in Crystal Skull, the better.

Haha I thought that about Sean Connery :p

But seriously... Opinions. :p

Seriously?

Why on earth do people try to judge how good a movie buy how realistic is it?

Just enjoy it for what it is, a nice action film with thrills and spills.

Seriously. You have to balance between reality and fiction. This was meant to be a reboot but it lost a lot in the process yet tried to ape that drunken punch em up style from the 60's. The film was entirely backwards.

So would you rather see several scenes where he tries to organise the shipping of his protein shakes on his WAP enabled mobile so he can beef up?

Well it never really showed what they were eating down there or who was even feeding them. Or why? Again what country were they even in at this point?

I would have lolled if it was actually a chimney and when he got to the top it was a 70ft sheer drop. Then it requires some batfink.

Watched the Dark night rises. Was disappointing, tbh. 5/10

At times i was falling asleep... Dragged on abit too.

Fo' Sho'.

Honestly there was a time i nearly got up and left. if i hadnt been with 3 mates and needed a lift home i probably would have walked out.

You can read my other film reveiws in this thread, i have a broad horizon.

Cabin in the Woods, After seeing other peoples opinions in here thought I'd give it a go. 7/10 for me, I like the twist towards the end, some funny moments etc, but I did feel the first half was just too stereotypical (am sure it's suppose to be, but still looses a point from me lol)
