Arsenal & Arsene Wenger

I've seen him plenty, his passing is nothing special at all. He's well behind our first choice midfield 3 but has no other traits / skills to make up for it.

OK im not trying to make out that Arsenal are perfect here or that there players will be superstars but what Aaron Ramsey have you been watching over the years. Right now I'd agree and say that Arteta and Cazorla are the 2 men that should be in the centre along with Wilshere without a doubt but Ramsey has played a lot of phenomenal through balls with awesome passing and in important games.

I've been watching the Aaron Ramsey that games pass by. Only 1 time this season have i thought he's played well (a sub appearance), i was surprised by him playing well, not brilliantly but just well because usually he does nothing. I don't recall any periods of aweome passing or even 1 instance of a phenomenal through ball. He is exactly the sort of average which is why Arsenal are the team they are today.

So he's made 7 minutes worth of youtubeable stuff. How much of it is after his inury?

id imagine after 7 mins of footage the guy got bored of making the montage.

You said you don't recall any periods of awesome passing or phenomenal through balls, so I just posted this vid up to show that he has :) .

Where are the young players coming through Arsenals ranks? Wengers much vaunted youth policy has produced Jack Wilshire, one player in 16 odd years, tht's not too good is it and he has had more time than Mourinho.

No worse than Man Uniteds or any of the other top clubs. Fergie got reasonably lucky with the batch at the same time and ever since well they are provided very little since Brian Kidd was there and they have a youth system talked about as often.

Meh Ramsey since his injury from Stoke has not been close to the promise he showed but then who knows?? maybe it has nothing to do with his injury and he just had a good first season.

Fact is that he is utterly rubbish as well, makes silly tackles and loses the ball possession wise far too many times. Another weak player that makes everyone else around him look crap too.

Brown, O'Shea, Fletcher, Evans, Cleverley, Welbeck?

The first four have all had long successful careers at the club, it's safe to say at this point Cleverley will as well and Welbeck either with us or someone else will also be a good PL player.

They are hardly what I would call class players in comparison to all that went before, that's a pretty average bunch considering the hype. Personally I'm not a fan of any of them and if that's the best that can be produced in 15 years then it's a good job the club has money to spare ;)

The likes of O'Shea & Fletcher ability wise certainly weren't any worse than Phil Neville or Nicky Butt and they were certainly better players for us than the likes of Gibson who have been moved on, where did he go again by the way? ;)

Top four consistently, soon to be debt free. We are struggling this season but we have easier games than Spuds and chelski.

Not won anything for years...hardly surprising who we are up against. Teams spending 10's and hundreds of millions every season.

If he would have added a few top players when we were at our best every season we might have been able to compete but its not happened.

I still wouldnt replace him, I dont think replacing the manager is suddenly going to make our squad better. I guess we will have to hold out until the fair play rules kick in.

Man City will spend another £100m in the summer to buy their way back to the top, Chelski or Utd might spend £30-60 doing the same.

And people question why Arsenal don't win the league? lol

This will infuriate DM further:p

Wenger backed by the board at Arsenal, so looks like the Board wont push him unless Wenger decides himself to call it day.

Gotze?? hes not bad but dont know if he would come to us especially if we dont qualify for CL next year. Reina?? dear god no, hes not that good anymore and i highly doubt Liverpool will sell him to us and i dont think he will want to come. Rumours are that Reina might replace Chessers, which imo is not a good decision if true. Chessers has been good for us in between the sticks, its just our useless defence put him under more pressure than necessary. If Wenger is going to replace Chessers then we need someone young and not someone past it ie Reina.

Sagna looks to be on his way out as he wont accept a yr extension to his contract, not great loss really as hes been rubbish for most of the season so if he does go, i hope Wenger can get someone decent and proven as a RB to replace him unless Jenks is going to be the RB starter next season.

Chesney has not had the best of seasons but then again, who has at Arsenal? No way in hell would in replace him with Reina though! A good experienced keeper for backup would be a good idea though, someone to keep Chesney on his toes. (that doesn't include Reina!)

I think this thread has about run it's course, will give it a short while to see if it's going anywhere in relation to the original topic

It looks like it has as its been reported that Wenger had a meeting with the Board at Arsenal and they have given their full backing to him, which i posted a few hrs ago and plus hes meant to get a £70mill warchest to spend in the summer window.

Will be interesting to see if that rumour is true and what Wenger does, if it is true about having £70mill to rebuild the squad.

So in a nutshell, Wenger isnt going anywhere and neither are the Board going to get rid of him. I do wonder if they would feel the same if we were fighting for relegation and also how they feel that our chances of qualifying for CL football next season are pretty slim.

Please don't close it, they're due to lose to Villa at the weekend. ;)

If we lose to Villa at the weekend then we dont deserve to get CL football:p. I dont expect anything less than 3 pts against Villa but knowing Arsenal, we will end up losing or drawing :/
