Australian Grand Prix 2013, Melbourne - Race 1/19

Anyone else noticed that there's been no protests, no penalties or any type of controversy?

What were the odds for that in the opening race? :p

Just watched Sky recording, good race, well done Kimi. Martin Brundle made so many mistakes today, was amateur hour really, hope it is just them being rusty.

You missed all that. The previews of who went where was in the F1 Shows earlier this year.
It shouldn't be just in those. It should be in the actual race coverage. People who aren't die hard fans that watch every F1 show they put out will tune in for the race. It's important to tell them what's going on this season.

A race without any damaging contact whatsoever, really amazing considering they havent been racing for months. Was good action all the way through.

Kimi might be in with a shout this season if the top keep taking points of each other again

I think teams would have been very clear to their drivers that if they wrote a car off during the race today, all likelihood will be that they wouldn't have a car to race in Malaysia. That must have been playing on their minds somewhat during Q1 on the rainy Saturday too.

Here's a very interesting graph - an interactive and clickable one that compares laptimes for any driver throughout the entire race. It's interesting to look at the consistency of some drivers versus others!
