Does anyone play this on a SSD? I currently have it on a normal hard drive but was wondering whether it's worth putting it on my SSD especially as I have quite a few leagues selected

SSD helps with basic loading but to speed up the processing you need raw power from the processor and a good 4gig of ram free for it.

heehee...

I don't think I'll bother with buying the full game, this must be the 7th or 8th time of trying FM2013 and there is still nothing to encourage me to get it!

Started as Spurs, paid £22m for Jovetic (sp?) and proceeded to win every pre-season game handsomely, even beating Real Madrid away 3-1! :D

Season starts with an away trip to Stoke - everyone fit and firing - concede a goal in the opening 9 seconds and then don't have a single highlight and end up losing 1-0

Oh well, it's only one game.....

Southampton at home will surely turn my fortunes around - concede in the 3rd minute and, you guessed it, no highlights and lost 1-0. :(

Reading at home - get in, surely an easy win! Nil-nil at half time so better than usual......until a flurry of goals in the last 10 minutes leaves me 4-0 losers!

Hmmmm, this is odd!

Wigan away - 3-0 loss and Bale is stretchered off in the last minute - 19 months out with a cruciate ligament injury!

3 more games, 3 more 1-0 losses and not a single goal scored (although I did get a penalty with was missed!)

Finally, my 7th game - Marouane Chamakh scores an overhead kick from the edge of the area in the 95th minute to condemn me to yet another 1-0 loss against West Ham! Added to which my new £22m striker picks up a 15 month injury!

Now 7 losses on the bounce is one thing but a game where Marouane Chamakh can score an overhead kick (or any goal for that matter!) is just not right!!!!

I've never felt so powerless to change a game in my life!

Game = fun??? I don't think so! :(

When I first dived into the game that's how I felt, but at the moment I'm sticking to the Classic mode and getting help from here/other guides and finding it far more enjoyable now im in the swing of things! :)

At the start of the pre-season you control training. Make sure you have team cohesion and tactics only set. Make sure your training facilities are up to date and make sure you have as many coaches as possible. Coaches are really important as they will allow your players to train faster in PPM and cohesiveness. The better the coach, the better the training. In a 4 week period I can have my tactics and formations fully fluid and coherent - playing as Kilmarnock. This is possible because I have invested in as many coaches as possible and have good training facilities. The backroom is quite often overlooked - it is VITALLY important in a successful squad.

I must be honest I have no idea how to hire or check staff/organise them... And I have no idea how to check facilities or maintain/improve them or w/e :p
Can anyone help?
(FMC mode)

I got sacked in that game where I redid my squad.

The game has not been opened for over a week now I believe. Stupid game.

I think we need a massive beginners guide. Any volunteers? It's a huge game with so much potential. But it's a real challenge. I would love to do a guide of what I've discovered to date but I don't have the time :(

It would be very good, I had and am still having a hard time finding the info for specific little things I want to know when they pop up and annoy me...

Well anything specific I can answer now?

The training thing is quite complex really because every club is different. If you go to you boardroom and change budgets it will show you a list of jobs filled and how many positions you still have. This is a good indicator of the coaching jobs you need to fill, and if you talk to your board when you are financially secure they might agree to extend your coaching team further.

I tend to have 15-25 coaches at one time in the Premiership.

I was wondering how I get scouts, or can I only have 1? I can only hire "chief scouts" and the last one I hired it sacked my current one and replaced him which was a shock :p

I wanted to do one, but I had exams. But its summer time now.

Hmm.

I have some stuff to do though. Don't have any time to make a huge guide.

The one I was thinking is a HUGE one, kinda like those guides you would find for old PS2 games, that used to cost £10/£15. 70-100 pages.

I can answer anything you want help with though.

all the information is already on the net just not anywhere in one big package.

Don't forget the game comes with a manual built in aswell

Scouts - vital in my opinon atlhough some would disagree.

Depending on the size and scope of your club you will have at least one scout. If one scout, they will be the chief scout.

To get more, you must be in a financially secure position and you go to your board and ask them for more scouts. If they agree you will be given a few more scout slots. I have 25-30 on average and a worldwide scouting ability, no stone unturned ;)

Scouting is a major part of the game and it can be equally complex. The more successful the club the more scout slots you are given. Scouting costs money remember, so if you are a small club keep your backroom team efficiently small.

The main area I always struggle with in FM is getting a tactic that works well with my current team. I think I've been trying to get good at that since around FM 2010? I still resort to downloading them off the internet :p

Okay thanks for that :)

And haha I haven't quite resorted to doing that yet Murray, I want to avoid it if I can and do it myself (but seeing as you've been playing so long and have to DL, there is little hope for me :p)

Yeah that is difficult. I find a basic 4-4-2 covers all the bases, one attack and one defense. When you become proficient you will find your best players - and to be honest, the best players are more important than the tactics. You will eventually discover that you can play your best defender as an attacker and still win :D

Whenever I decide to finally do it myself and I spend 15 minutes checking everyones stats and seeing what roles they'd be best in and such then the season comes along and I go on a 10 game losing streak :p

haha yeah - as soon as you lose a game your team morale will suffer. It will get progressively worse until you start to win. Team talks will be your friend. If you keep losing you will get sacked, but not before all your players will ask for transfers :D

Lol yes, my morale was good/v good then we lost 1-0 to Everton and it plummeted :p

Hope it climbs a bit now, starting to improve again after a draw and a win!
