Did it! :)

Last season with them and won the FA cup, League and Champions league.

Makes 5 league wins in a row, 2 fa cup wins, 2 champions league wins, 1 league cup, 1 club world cup and 1 european super cup with them (well also the fa trophy and the BSP title but they were ages ago).

Matched Chelsea's record points total, ruined by a couple of terrible draws/losses.

anyway time to sleep/be unemployed in a game for a while till I get a team that covers either a. the other 4 champions leagues to win or b. looks fun!

Never got FM13 as I was too far ahead in my 12 game. Feel like I'm getting a bit tired of it now though and would like to try some of the new features, is it worth getting 13 now or wait a few months till 14? Don't wanna be in the same position next year.

i'd wait for 14.

I think this season is close to perfect that i could think and i finished it off with winning the Community Shield, Carling Cup, FA Cup, World Club Championship, Super Cup and Champions League.

Nice one ping! That defensive record is great! 20 goals only concealed.

It was amazing, I could have conceded less if they listened to me more when I was shouting at them (it was unacceptable to concede this season in my eyes as they back line had been playing together for at least 4 season).

Got to the end of my Bishops Stortford contract and found Montreal Impact have no manager!!!! :D Going straight for it to see if I can win the MLS...

Thought i would give an update on my FM progress, i have been doing another career with Man United and this time i wanted to develop the squad for the future so i started to bring in some young players with good ratings around 4/5 stars and leave them in the reserve for 2/3 years before i give them first team experience, fast forwarding to the end of 2019/2020 season now that those young players have develop for 6/7 years they are getting to kick some serious arse now.

These are some of the players i bought when they was younger and developed in to class players

I am still developing a young German defender who i got when is was 15

Now this player who i bought was hiding in the portuguese league with SLB and i found him by complete accident while looking for a cheap defender to cover for the backup team and he turned out to be a complete gem of a player who won the World Player of The Year after i signed him.

Right there are two things we're utter crap at. Corners (including defending them) and penalties.

How do I improve dealing with corners and also getting good deliveries and people's heads on them at the other end? And is there anyway to make people better at penalties?

Can anyone help? They're still useless and we've lost a few games because of a missed peno or conceding from corners :(

Also if I shove people in the reserves is that the best way to train them up? How long does it take them to gain experience?

Is your match preparation set to "Defensive Set Pieces", if not set it to that and keep it on for at least a dozen or so matches to see if it helps.

if there youngish players might be worth loaning them out if you can get decent teams for them.

Finally had my full season with a team! It was a pretty good season, finished 6th after looking good for a playoff spot for most the season until the last few games where I threw it away.

I decided to let my contract expire and find a new team which I have and I'm the new manager of The Saints! :D

St. Albans :p

I also thought my team history is pretty hilarious.

[...] conceding from corners :(

Fullbacks on near and far post. Two centre backs marking tall players. One midfielder closing down corner. One AP/AMC/DLF/fast winger on edge of area [to transition loose balls/clearances into counter-attacks]. Most advanced striker stays forward. Everyone else goes back.

It seems to have worked for me through a number of FM versions [edit: I've just checked both my FM12 and FM13 saves, and yup - that's how I've got my teams set up on both. This suggests I've seen no need to tinker].

I can count the number of times I've used the "Defending Set Pieces" match focus on one hand. I'm sure it has its uses, but I'd need to hear one heck of an argument in order to choose it over "Attacking Movement" or "Defensive Positioning".
