I3m -1.3ghz
4gb ram

Win8.1 64bit

Anyone know how the gt400 stacks up against the haswell onboard graphics?the top ones?
As I am wanting too get a haswell NUC when they are released.

Still think it'll run Glaucus but may need some tweaking or dropping some of the graphics options down a bit + lower res.

Got a GTX 480 SOC (1Gig) and seriously tempted to upgrade for this + Rome 2, pretty sure I'd need a newer PSU though..

Got the lengthy email/newsletter for this last night. I had honestly forgotten all about it. I seriously can't wait now. I've been dying for a space game since Freelancer died out.

I'm thinking i'll be purchasing a new GFX card around late October time. :) Currently running

i5 3570k
8GB RAM
275GTX

Looks like Guild Wars 2 might take a back seat after a full year of my gaming attention :)

Looks decent. Loved X3 + X3 TC, so I'll no doubt buy this and sink a silly amount of hours into it :D

Hope you can have lots of different ships and not just that one though. Although it sounds from the forums that you are stuck with the one in terms of actual piloting. Will have to see how that pans out. If their is enough customisation it should be ok!

Finally some info on this game, it totally fell off my radar due to no updates but boy is it looking awesome. Definitely going to get lost in this all over the winter.:D

Great news, looks like full game controller support so looks like I will be kicking back playing on the 50 inch tv.

The graphics look really nice :D

Just a shame it's singleplayer :(

Will prob still end up buying it :) bought X3 a while ago and haven't really given it enough time to get anywhere

It lloks like they ahve grabbed great chunks of oarts of othe space games they were missing and added it to the existing x parts.
Freespace was it, had the highways equivalent?
All the new bits reminded me of old things, but this isn't a bad thing, it might be a really good thing.

The jumpgate system basically made space into a block of closed rooms with jumpgates as the doorways. This just wrecked the immersion for me :(

Thats what I liked about Elite, free roaming space. You could jump in to hyperspace at anytime to travel distances and then just fly normally to reach planets. It behaved more like open space, rather than closed rooms.

Couldn't agree more.

Until they change the exploration and remove this lazy box universe I am totally uninterested.

Looks stunning. The space cities have a Blade Runner feel to them, while the trading lanes idea comes from Freelancer - fast travel within the system.

SP is a win for me as I just like to tinker around building my own empire, following the main plot when I feel like it. MP of little interest, one of the reasons I can't get enthused over the new Elite.

Only downer as mentioned is retention of the "room" concept linked by jump-gates rather than more astronomically correct solar systems.

Definitely looks as if I'll be needing my I5 upgrade for this though.

just me or does the style of the shading look like a toned down version of the borderlands style?

That crossed my mind too.

I'm honestly giddy with excitement for this game, granted I was a late comer to X3:TC but after the 600+ hours i've put into that I think I'm ready for this.

Gawd, 1.0 is going to be so broken lol

Considering the inevitable scope and scale of this game, looks absolutely amazing!

Fair to say I am looking forward to this.

On a scale of horrific to bad, how does everyone reckon the voice acting is going to be in this game? :D Some of the past games were just hiliarious!
