Ground staff have said it will need 2 hours to get the pitch playable once it stops raining and there's no sign of a let up. Looks like today is over . tomorrow could still be interesting.
LOL no worries, i would have checked myself if i wasnt watching footy either
Oh well shame we lost a day of cricket as it would have been interesting to see if England continued to bore the Aussies to death with their uber slow batting
If you watched the commentary today, every man without exception made it quite clear that the pitch was the reason it was such a slow day, even Pietersen couldn't get anything from it.
I'm not really fussed about the slow batting - one thing that has dogged the Aussies over the last 3 series is their inability to take all of our wickets even when in very promising positions and this just exemplifies that - I'll take a bit of boring over previous England sides which would collapse all the way down to 11 at times
Obviously they shouldn't declare in terms of winning the game.
Would be nice if they did though, if only for the fans who have paid to watch this non-event(apparently it was sold out before Christmas). Have Australia bash it about for an hour and then see if they could bowl England out again
