AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

That's £450 add £90 VAT = £540 plus the extra added on by 1st day it could come in at around £600. I wasn't far wrong with my first guess if this pricing is mirrored here.

The pricing from the other retailer was around £540 to £550 for the BF4 special edition card.

Now,include the $730 for the Newegg card, and that is the actual RRP of the card.

So,that means "normal" versions of the card will be less.

This is GTX780 level pricing. All the fake shock by some people,is that, just fake shock(not directed at you BTW).

People should be shocked that we continue having these £300+ cards in the first place, but for the last decade it has happened too many times,ie,8800 Ultra,X1950XTX,etc.

overclockers says it will be 799.00 in the description. is everyone missing this ?

99 pound for deposit then you must clear the remaining 700 pound balance.

I think your missing the point! Its a colloquial saying for saying its going to cost a fair bit.

Just because I say I have several hundred pounds in my bank doesn't mean I have exactly £700 in there. That's what OcUK are trying to say.....

EDIT: Read carefully!

You are placing a DEPOSIT / PRE-ORDER for your slot in the queue of R290X BF4 Edition Pre-Orders. Upon product launch in mid-end October you will need to pay the remaining fee which will be several hundred pounds.

No longer. It's reign is over.

I, for one, thought those benchmark results shown were fake and actually lower than shown. Turns out the exact opposite is true. Well played, AMD, bloody well played.

I'm not going to give numbers, but I'll say that it's all over for the TITAN until LN2 is used, at which point the roles are reversed. LN2 is kinda wasted on the card.

Plus it can cancelled with a full refund,in case the price ends up being more than the RRP.

sorry but if i see that " Upon product launch in mid-end October you will need to pay the remaining fee which will be several hundred pounds."

all that means to me is i need to pay 700 pound more.

badly worded.

Are there any decent benchmarks out?

Only ones I seem to find are at unplayable frame rates with a res of 5760 x 1080 and loads of AA which only shows the R9 has more memory bandwidth than Nvidia.

Where are the leaked benchmarks with performance in the 60+ fps range to see how the card will really run.

AD

Precisely, only a fraction of a percent of gamers run an eyefinitey setup. 1080p and 1600p would be much more relevant but maybe underwhelming?

£400 is several hundred quid more and so is £900. So is £300 or £700.

Newegg and another UK retailer have already leaked the RRP. Anything much over £550 to £575 is just retailers price gouging.

I would take your quotes with a pinch of salt.

The Titan using LN2 from what I have read is a pain in the butt, the GTX 780 is much preferred.

The other thing your quotes suggest is if the R9 290X can not do the business on LN2 it is lacking the ocing headroom of the Titan and GTX 780.

Of course, but I'm only relaying what was said by someone who has a card. It could just be that 290X can expose all of it's potential without needing LN2 to do it.

The other thing that occurred to me is if the R9 290X can not do the business on LN2 it means the Titan will carry on as the fastest GPU.

All this is speculation though, what we need is some proper reviews.

Several not equal to seven. This is awkward.
