AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

The other thing that occurred to me is if the R9 290X can not do the business on LN2 it means the Titan will carry on as the fastest GPU.

All this is speculation though, what we need is some proper reviews.

Who cares about LN2 scores though? It's only useful for those few people chasing world records. For regular, normal daily use, it's only air or water that counts.

From what I have seen if a GPU does well in one (air, water or LN2) it scales and does well in the others.

We need proper reviews not websites looking for traffic.:D

NDA could be a issue or several issues

Or none??:p

If AMD is charging over £500 for the R9 290X,they must be pretty sure it performs well.

Well,it could be more a function that for the high clockspeeds under LN2,that a custom PCB is required anyway for the 1.4GHZ+ clockspeeds.

It is no indication of whether the bog standard R9 290X cannot hit 1.2GHZ say with the stock PCB and cooler.

It seems that's not the case any more with 290X if it's doing better than Titan on air, but worse on LN2. I know which one is more useful to me.

I will know it's true only when I see some proper reviews.:)

+1 It's bit crazy all this hype and frenzy and we're still weeks away from release, and the tech day just made things worse. Or maybe better if you're AMD. They amount of publicity and interest they are getting must be a dream come true for them. If R9 delivers on performance and price too...

sorry but if i see that " Upon product launch in mid-end October you will need to pay the remaining fee which will be several hundred pounds."

all that means to me is i need to pay 700 pound more.

badly worded.

"Several hundred" is not the same as "seven hundred".

Normal ascending usage would be "One", "Two", "Few", "Several", "Many".

In short OcUK is one of two UK Etail partners who have being given direct allocation from AMD on their brand new upcoming R290 X flagship graphics card. We've being allocated a few hundred of these special BF4 Editions by AMD and as such we can guarantee our customers you will be one of the first in the UK with this amazing new card from AMD.

Like I say only two partners in the UK have allocation of the BF4 edition and we shall cease taking DEPOSITS once all our allocation is sold out, so you can rest assured by placing a deposit now you are securing yourselves one of these amazing cards, DON'T MISS OUT, order this product now and you have officially placed your DEPOSIT for the new R290 X edition.

When the card officially launches we shall contact you / request you contact us to pay the remaining fee, which is yet unknown as AMD have not yet released an official price, right now the R290X BF4 edition could be priced anywhere between £400 - £650. When AMD confirm the price we will request you pay us the rest of the money to 100% secure your BF4 edition card.

THIS IS ONLY A DEPOSIT which is refundable if you so wish. The cards are expected mid-end October.

If you place a deposit by ordering this product you see here, once the NDA lifts we shall add the five BF4 Editions we are getting from Sapphire, HIS, Asus, MSI and Gigabyte to our website with a confirmed price, at this point we will contact you to pick one of the five product and pay the remaining money owed to us.

It is a bit vague but it is definitely less than £700.
