***The Official LG Optimus G2 Thread***

Yea in my case it does..Both nillkin and nekeda were too tight to sit properly..good for naked phone though

thanks mate, will bare that in mind, still got the stock back protector on :D

the nillkin shell is nice but its too slippy my hands

ok battery results are in from first full charge of ownership of the G2, managed to get a quick screen shot before battery died

this was mix of everything, im not a heavy user mind and was very happy with this, was trying for 5 hours screen time lol

found that just after purchased the case..was going to return it but the seller returned some of my money and let me keep the case instead..now its just sitting being lonely..

Yep, there's some settings in G2 Settings that I disable and allow Gravitybox to control that there's no conflict, like navbar changes. I prefer to have the statusbar changes in G2 Settings (like volume/brightness toggle+hide) - otherwise I would remove it completely.

Statusbar is transparent, and icon colours slightly changed. Clock is hidden - I did have it centred and only to appear on screens outside of home, but then I thought the clock is on the piecontrols anyway, so I've hidden it completely.
Navbar hidden, replaced with piecontrols.
Nova launcher with adjusted columns+rows, smaller icons. Folders on desktop. A few with swipe-ups to directly launch apps like Google Now search

Stock works for me. No need for a ROM (until 4.4 appears maybe).

I tried Gravitybox and was impressed with the amount of things you could change on it especially the icon colours. I can't get on with piecontrols, I never have for some reason even with the PA ROM when it was implemented on that.

I'm on Nova Launcher (Beta) as well and found that it's a far smoother experience than the LG launcher which for some reason doesn't play nice with clock widgets especially UCCW widgets.

Nice home screen set up there Mate, I like how you can use gestures on Nova Launcher to control apps. I'm in agreement with you, stick with the Stock Rom until a 4.4 ROM appears (which it will at some point).

Here's my home screen set up (nothing fancy)

This case arrived a few days ago, it's the black version of the one that numec has, I personally don't like it as the top and bottom of the G2 isn't properly protected and the G2 doesn't sit properly in the case and the screen is quite high up along the lip of the case and it looks odd.

That's two strikes for two cases that I have bought recently, the other being a Ringke Slim case bought from Rainforest which didn't even fit the G2 and is actually meant for the American G2. I've asked for a refund...

The Diztronic case kept interfering with my screen protector so I've gone back to my trusty Terrapin case (cheap but effective...it doesn't look good though) so the hunt's on for a decent G2 case.

Have you considered spigen slim armor mate? That is the best protection i read but it will not be slim as it is 2 piece case..

Which network you're on anyway? Im on 3 managed only 3mbps tonite test via speedtest.net?? Tried via virginmedia got 33mbps..is there any settings for the network as my firmware is SEA not UK version..

I'm on t-mobile and speeds are poor around here but on wifi at home with Virgin I get 50Mbps +

Will be moving over to 3 early next year though.

Got one of these on the way! Spent some time dealing with a nice girl in Orange upgrades who sorted me out. Offered some mediocre deals then we agreed on this one which I think she shot herself in the foot for as it's supposed to be £37.99/month.

£17 of discounts retained and applied, I've got an LG G2 for free and the contract deal is unlimited texts & calls, magic numbers carried over and 5GB of data for £20.99 a month!

I need a good case, small footprint, not tacky looking which will protect my phone. A gel style case will be good. Any solid recommendations?

Nice... pretty good deal, I tried to get the phone from Orange in Spain, they would give me the contract at nearly 40€ a month but they wouldn't let me buy the phone for 389€ and then give them 4 euro a month for 2 years. Was strange. So instead I got it sim free for 459€ around £380 (meant to be 559€ (£460) but they had a 3 day 100€ off sale on about 4 different flagship phones in the Phone House (Spanish Carphone Warehouse)).

Anyway, at least ive saved 26€ on the phone in a 2 year period and im not tied into anything :) .

been messing about with ROms over last few days, some good ones out there, also tried 4.4 Alpha which looks very nice(just like n5 lol) but of course very buggy at the moment.

i have reverted back to total stock and root only just for the GMD Hide Keys app cos just cant get on with the onscreen soft keys, always get in the way!

still loving the phone,

Mines turned up today, mad busy so no time to play but ordered some screen protectors and a Diztronic case before the thing leaves the house lol. All in all quick play and it seems fast, great screen, very good camera (especially for macro performance!) and all in all I think I will be pleased with it when I finally sit down to have a play :)

Nice. You will love it. The only complaints ive really heard are from people that don't own one. Had it a week or so now and still playing with it like the day ive got it. My best gadget of the decade for sure.
