Asus T100 owners thread

Has anyone bought a case for one of these?

It would be cool to get hold of something like a phone flip case that would go over the whole thing and protect the outside etc.

Don't know if any are available though.

spotted the 32gb + 500gb one at amazon.de for not a huge amount more than the uk 32gb one, just wondering if anyone who has one has opened up their keyboard dock to see if a hdd can be retrofitted? That would certainly be interesting :)

I have - opened it up the day I got it as I saw the HDD dock rumors and wondered the same thing.

No space in the standard model dock for a HDD, or way of connecting it to the PCB - the HDD models cut away some of the ridging in the base to make room for the drive and have a different PCB with USB to SATA adaptor and SATA port on-board.

Surely the keyboard dock just serves this purpose anyway? Protects the screen when not in use.

Really considering one of these for my daughter. She loves to play minecraft. Can this thing really handle it? I watched some of the videos posted but still hard to assess how useable it actually is .

Tried Minecraft on mine, works quite nicely. Switched the graphics from Fancy to Fast and after that it averaged about 30fps, which is fine.

saw John Lewis were doing them for 299 inc £25 store voucher put one in basket, by the time I got to the end of checkout they'd sold out, gutted :(

just grabbed an ex display model in John Lewis for £249. Happy days.

GREAT price if the model is un-damaged.

I'm loving my T100!

I just need to find a good touch friendly strategy game. Any suggestions / ideas? Civ was in the earlier vids. I prefer combat oriented games though.

I have decided to wait for the next gen. I really like the concept and baytrail has promise but this device has a few compromises that I can't get past at the moment. I can't argue with the value is represents vs its competition.

For me
Screen Resolution is too low
Storage too low
Build is a little plasticky.

However It looks like its a cracking benchmark device for others to shoot at.

I also want to share something that I don't have any issues with the keyboard and dock, for the cost of the laptop I think they're above the quality I'd expect, it's better than any net book I've used previously, obviously a £1700 laptop is going to feel a little nicer, but that said it works and feels fine. Thanks for sharing.

They had stock? The website is showing out of stock :(

Out of stock in a few other places too.. apparently this little tablet is proving quite popular!

I wonder whether the stock issues are due to just high demand? Or might it be that Asus are preparing to replace it with another device?

They under estimated demand. Their initial production run for the whole of Europe was planned to be something like 20k units.

Theres one place showing stock but at £349 which I don't want to pay, i'd be tempted to get the venue pro 11 for £80 more than that

Remember with the Venue 11 Pro its not £80 more by the time you add in the keyboard dock (£160) and Office Home and Student 2013 (£100)

Yeah I know about the keyboard, could do without that for a while tbh, and no need for the office really as I a spare pro copy anyway

Ordered a Skinomi TechSkin rear cover and screen protector last night, hoping it'll help control the fingerprints a little as well as protect. Got to wait 3+ weeks for delivery though.

Also my local JL had these in stock at the weekend for £299.
