that boat is awesome.
what's the damage to your wallet for something like that?
definitely something I could get into but on a much smaller level lol
This is a partwork. It's not something I usually do as it can be a slow process, but I've always wanted to build this ship and Artesania Latina are only releasing it through partwork, so I had no choice really. But it's extremely complex. I'm receiving issues faster than I can build them.
First things first, it is not a rip-off as so many suggest. The entire series comes to £804. That is around ££150 dearer than the suggested RRP of these AL ships. But you obviously get 135 magazines which are quite educational about history and have great instructions, plus, you also get free gifts including mini rotary tool set worth about £40. Although I use a Dremel 8200 and flexi shaft.
The ship is a plank on frame construction. The next few pics should give you an idea of how it's constructed.
After the first 3 issues
A cannon and carronade
The completed frame and keel structure
The planked hull
The upper hull second planked in Sapele
With maroon band, gunwhales and upper black section done and hull painted
As she stands today with galleries fitted, beak and gunport linings finished and third deck planking started.
