I used tweezers to remove the cover and the same tweezers to take out the sticker

same here not turned up yet, getting abit worried now going see if they turn up on Monday. Mine where shipped on the 10th not sure if i should be worried

The more I flick between X1 and Q701 the more I like the signature of the Q701. Is the K712 Pro worth the extra of the Q701? I think given the massive bargain we got with the Q at under £100 it just seems hard to beat by paying extra for the 712 in terms of price vs performance?

The K712 is much more fuller, natural and musical than the Q701. It's definitely the better headphone, I actually prefer the K712 to the Sennheiser HD800.

Hmm, but is it worth £115 extra? I think for me the next upgrade from the Q701 would ideally be something magnificent like the K812!

Oooh yes. K712 Pro is most definitely an 'end-game' headphone. The Q701, at the end of the day, is still a mid-fi headphone - albeit it towards the very top end of mid-fi.

Not according to respected members on headfi, a modded 701 is up there with the 712, apparently they use the same drivers.

Headband modding materials ordered.

1x Nylon lime green trhead for stitching.
1x Faux leather fabric material.
1x sticky back foam strip roll already being shopped.

I'm going to make the headband nicely padded then stitch the faux leather through the headband using the existing stitching as a guide. It should look nice and proper :cool:

You may be setting yourself up to do a few pairs if they come out well.
