** OCUK EXCLUSIVE - AK RACING & AROZZI GAMING CHAIRS **

I did take a few pictures last night but they weren't really of a good enough quality to do justice, that said I will try again later today to get better shots.

Some feedback:

As to the overall quality of the chair, it is lacking in one or two places, although from my initial inspection I didn't notice any scratches I have found 1, it's about 4mm in length and about 2mm width on the left armrest.

The left armrest has more side to side play than it should have IMO, the right one has what I would define as a normal amount of play being little and smooth, the left one has more and it feels clunky.

The stitching isn't quite up to a standard I would expect for the price I paid, while it will defiantly hold and doesn't look like it will fall apart it's not straight, kind of looks like the machinist had one or two drinks before coming into work that morning!. It's more annoyingly noticeable in a few areas and seems to be more pronounced on the backrest itself.

The cheap plastic covers need to be of a better quality, the one on the left side just doesn't line up right. My supplied gloves were also not clean and came in child size, they did have all the fingers and thumbs, but I wouldn't really expect them to fit a woman, let alone my hands.

Nitpicking aside I'm reducing my initial score from 10/10 to a 8.5/10, still quite a respectable score, others do seem to have had a rougher deal than I have.

If you're thinking of getting one, I would personally suggest holding off for the moment until these initial issues are resolved and it is fully known how bad things really are.

I have confidence that OcUK will sort things out ASAP, it's great to see that our feedback will be passed up the line, instructions improved etcetera.

I would really like to see some of this dodging stitching that people talk about because one of my guild mates looked at my photos last night, and being a machinist he was impressed with the quality of the stitching on my chair.

Does anyone else's arm rests have quite a bit of movement side to side (the whole arm rest), surely they shouldn't move....
Its starting to bother me, but I'm reluctant to sent it back just because of that....

I reckon they are all naff and the buyers are divided into two groups... Those who are appalled, and those with low standards (the happy ones) :p

Thanks for the update rjk. Fully appreciate it's not your fault and you're left to clean up the mess so I'm sure we're all greatful for the support.

I'll be bringing mine back over to OcUK this afternoon and exchanging it.

The plastic parts on my arm rests (the resting part and the covers) do wobble slightly but didn't notice it until you've asked.

Might also be worth saying which chair you have in regards to bad stitching (or any other cosmetic issues). I can't find any stitching issues on my Premium Carbon aside from the threading issues I pointed out under the seat (if that counts!).

the ones here move but with in acceptable tolerances to other chairs i've used. movement is not out of the ordinary for that design arm rest.

I'm not an OCUK customer yet, although was hoping to be real soon and have been eagerly awaiting the AK Racing chairs to arrive. For me the DX Racers and Arozzi don't fit with my weight requirement, I'm about 3 stone under the limit for the AK Racing chairs so they were my main option.

However, looking at the quality so far, I'm really not that impressed by what I've seen.

1. Plastic cracking - this could have been avoided by using a different ABS plastic or not making it so hollow that it would crack, adding thickness to it would have resolved that in production
2. Gloves - why on earth are people receiving soiled gloves as part of their shipment? Seriously this suggests no quality check WHATSOEVER at AK Racing end!
3. Scratches on base - seems to be affecting quite a few although that wouldn't bother me too much, you'll get scuff marks I'm sure in first few weeks although maybe they should have had a matt black base? Again quality checks are not happening if these are being let out!
4. Fabric torn / bad stitching - that isn't good and again quality checks would have picked up on this if they had happened. Not too bad if it's on underside of seat but still not great.
5. Fabric blocking holes - not great but somewhat acceptable? But again quality checks would have picked this up
6. Threads stripped out of plastic - again quality checks would have picked up on this

If there was just 1 or 2 reoccurring problems then I think that might be acceptable but there seems to be way too many different problems here. Agree with OCUK that it's only a small amount of people so far complaining, let's hope it stays that way.

I was going to order 2x Premium chairs and have two friends who were going to order two between them but we're all seriously holding off on these now and think I'll stick with my current office style chairs that have served me for 14 years and are still working well!

I was hoping for a bit more back / lumbar support, but at that price for the AK Racing Premium, not being real leather and having all these quality issues, really doesn't seem a good bargain. Agree they do look lovely when not so close up pics are taken.

It's not OCUK's fault, they received what seemed to be good samples, probably inspected and quality checked several times over by AK Racing. It's good OCUK are offering a complete no quibble money back guarantee, my concern is not only about the quality we've seen so far but how durable these chairs are really going to be. Will they last more than a year?! Esp as I'm on the top heavy side. It does unfortunately sound like these are QS (Quality Seconds) although not even sure Quality should be a part of that :-|

I really hope it's a small percentage of duff / sub-standard chairs that didn't get QA'd properly by someone on their last day on the job, that may get me to change my mind over time but currently my mind is set from what I've seen so far.

I feel really sorry for the OCUK staff, they get hassled so much because shipments are delayed and when they do arrive they get hassled again because the chairs appear to be sub standard, and of course the customers that have the bad chairs.

Well I'm going to be putting one together shortly with photos.

So we will know first hand the problems.

Which i'll talk about later.
I hope there aren't many customers about during the 2 to 4 hours of swearing while you are installing the backrest :P

OK you've convinced me to use some of the pics I took last night :D

I wouldn't go as far as to describe it as dodgy, like I say it does look like it will hold up and won't fall apart any time soon.

I can see what you mean about the stitching on there, ill upload some of the photos of mine, it seems that the machinist struggled with the leather?

I agree that the plastic parts are below the quality that I expected, only part of the chair that let me down! Maybe OcUK can negotiate a deal with AK racing about the plastic parts, they can redo them and dispatch them?

My lumbar support is around the bottom of the chair.... dont see why everyone is having to use the "vents"

Yeah teshi those shells are a bit less than they should be really.....but overall I have to say the one i got which is the Pyro is actually nice to sit in ..and to be honest I don't really want the hassle of dealing with replacing the chair , cos i think I have a graphics card issue that I may need to sort out...but thats a different thread lol
