Tomb Raider 2: Rise of the Tomb Raider Announced

Gutted this is only on a game console, I'd be surprised if its 900p...

Well that sucks.

I agree with the comments about it being the Xbox Uncharted. There were lots of comparisons about the 2013 game being like Uncharted, with a lot of people questioning if the Playstation needed 2 games if that style. Obviously MS want this for themselves and have convinced SE to make it exclusive, presumably offsetting the lower sales with promises of a long running multi game franchise and making the devs job easier by only building for a single platform.

I can fully see the business reasoning behind this. Its just such a shame that they successfully (ignoring their own viewpoint) relaunched the Tomb Raider franchise across platforms, only to then drop all but XB1 after 1 game.
 
Uncharted is still PS exclusive. If MS want TR to be the XB version of Uncharted and create a multi game franchise, they will fight to keep it exclusive.
 
Uncharted vs tombraider .....wow such a hard decision.

MS are literally mental if they think they can win such a scrap. Il by a PS4 for Bloodbourne but their literally deluded if they think their get people to buy an XBOne for TB especially by then releasing it at roughly the same time as Uncharted 4.
 
I loved the previous one and I am disappointed by this but i'd echo the comments that this will ship on PC - just with a delay. Square needed the cash plain and simple.

It's a shame the game gets a bad rep - aside from the start which has lots of QTEs it's a great game and opens up well. It sold well though so I can't be the only one who enjoyed it :)

BTW I have an X1..
 
CD sold Lara like if she was a whore..

IF this is not a time exclusive.. How many people do they think will really buy the third one when it comes out? Having not even been given the chance to play the second one.. Good business move!

Uncharted is owned by naughty dog which sony own right so it will always remain exclusive until someone buys naughty dog.

Tomb raider is only coming to xbox as ms are doing what they did with Rise paying for full development cost so it won't cost them anything to make.
Granted it will be a flop but what doe square enix care they are in finance trouble they get to make a AAA title and take small profits from small returns.

And when it flops they will release it to other console/pc as most likely will be a clause in MS agreement for low profits.

The fans are hurt the most as many play on PS/PC but guess it better to see a game get released very late than never made all together.

It was always interesting to see the different hardware and their effect on rendering Lara's 'assets'.

No single game really is but it adds to the attraction along with others. The choice for console buying (for most) comes down to what games it has so adding another to the list 'not on PS4' is a win for MS even if a small one.

I bought an X1 because I was interested in the hardware more than a PS4 - i'm not really a big console gamer anyway. Don't have kids therefore disposable income :)
