I haven't owned a console since the SNES. I bought a second hand PS3 just to play The Last of Us, spent the best part of a week banging into everything/looking at the floor/sky, as I hadn't picked up a controller since my SNES days. Ended up having to play with aim assist on and difficulty on easy as my brain/hands just could not get used to no keyboard/mouse - still enjoyed it for the experience though!

Gave the console & game to charity once I finished - thus began and ended my dabble into the modern console :D

Now confirmed as a timed exclusive why not do that yesterday & save getting all the deserved negative reaction :rolleyes: all MS have done is pay to deny other platform gamers the experience @ launch. Not the way to go about winning some lost customers back is it MS :( they only mention timed exclusive now to limit further PR damage they would not have mentioned it otherwise would they!

Does not help Square Enix/CD either many like me will only buy when its -75% cheap to reward the disrespect shown towards our hard earned support in previous years which obviously was not good enough & meant nothing to the developer/publisher :rolleyes:
 
This is sad news, especially with Microsoft constantly advising they're behind PC gaming. Why not release the game on PC and Xbox One? as a Microsoft exclusive title?

Same thing with the Halo Series, if I was CEO of Microsoft I would release it across as many of my branded platforms as possible to maximise sales and eventually profits.
 
Nice so now Xbots can Beta test for me. I really cant understand this move, in the long run its only going to hurt there sales even more.

Say it turns out very bad, all the guys who would have bought on PS4 or PC will simply pass it on.

Granted it will be a flop but what doe square enix care they are in finance trouble they get to make a AAA title and take small profits from small returns.

And when it flops they will release it to other console/pc as most likely will be a clause in MS agreement for low profits.

The fans are hurt the most as many play on PS/PC but guess it better to see a game get released very late than never made all together.

I would agree that they are just after a quick buck, a sure-fire money in the bank no quibble agreement with MS is probably better then risking sales.

However - and this was an issue on the back of the first game: Sq Enix seem to be in the belief that TR didnt do well enough, whilst seemingly ignoring the fact that a lot of their other games simply flopped plunging the company into a financial abyss ...The management is literally crazy.

I had a 360 purely because of kinect (have friends with kids, am a big kid myself) and then I came across a mouse + nunchuck controller which let me play games pretty much like a PC - changed Oblivion into something annoying into 'hey it's like a PC'.. I hate controllers too - I feel your pain. People who say I should play some PC games with them should be killed with fire :D

From their point of view there isn't much value in doing so because:
1) If they come out and say it is a genuine exclusive, then they are limiting their options for the future (or have to renege on their statement) i.e. depending on how it goes on XB1 they may want to launch on other platforms but don't know yet
2) If they come out and say it is a timed exclusive, MS won't be happy and I would be surprised if that possibility hasn't been cut off and the pass in contract terms (i.e. MS say they can't say anything about the possibility of versions on other platforms until date xyz)

This thread was in Consoles, looking at the first page it definitely was - Im unsure if two threads have been merged or what but have asked for this to be moved back.

Considering Im posting a few posts in Im damn sure this wasnt originally in PC Games :p

EDIT: I expect a Mods made a mistake - looking at post #29 it looks like they merged it...

Not sure, I do remember a thread getting created here when TR was first shown though.

This thread has always been in the PC section - we had two, one announcing the game (see the first post from a while back) and then the one to do with the fact that this game won't be coming to the PC platform any time soon (or at all) (also in the PC section).
 
Threads were merged - it's like magic!

The threads won't be able to me unmerged, so will move this back to consoles as it is a predominantly console discussion - feel free to open a new thread in PC games to discuss the potential (inevitable..) release of a PC version.
