I know which is why I am asking. I'm not going for the next best locations because I've seen how fast friends can level to get the house and farm and the hop over the mountains using the glider. I expect houses will be down in those prime locations within the hour and all spots gone on the coast in two.

Yeah I'd say thats quite likely, in our guild test runs, we have managed to lower the time to place to around 30mins from start.

House or house and farm? I only had 2 runs but the best I could do was from the start to Lutesong Harbour in just under an hour with the house and the farm. If people are doing it in 30 mins I am royally screwed! Takes me 5 mins from Anvilton to the Harbour and I don't see how I can do that faster.

For just the house, it was another 10mins on top for the small farm as well. So it was 40-45 mins in our tests for house and farm, but we were able to have a house in 30mins by the time we were level 8.

It's a mature, semi-hardcore gaming community with long history, multi game.
Right now over 100 people signed up for AA.

Write an app, you can mention that 'Brakkar from RK' recommended the guild for you.
It's a last call to get in to be honest, so be quick with your decision.

KDS have always been a major PvP guild wherever they went.
Warhammer Online, Rift, SWTOR, GW2, ESO are just a few titles.
I fought on same side and against them many times and they are really great guild to play with.

It may not be the guild for everyone, as there are some strict in-game rules, but who plans to focus on endgame PvP should consider writing an app.

I will leave the decision to you :-)

Cheers for that - well that just confirms there is no way I can compete with you guys having only played for short time so I need to go straight to a "second tier" location.

I'm going to buy a founders pack for this game and get on for the headstart, but I've never played this before and have no idea about these good housing locations or how to even build etc, so I'm going to be really screwed for getting a good plot!

I'll just be wandering around getting to grips with the game at first I think slowing me down drastically haha.

Any guides or anything out there (or any tips from you guys) on what I should do to get a half decent plot?

That's the same as me Greenja. Played the open beta for a couple of hours and really enjoyed it. Bought a founders pack, I have 3 days clear for the headstart

I'm praying this wont be another flop of an MMO.

People seem to be really anxious about getting plots of land and I still don't understand why, I think it's mainly an RP thing.

Its because without the plots of land you cant grow plants, animals or trees. Without being able to grow plants, animals or trees, you are going to have a fair bit of difficulty in getting the wood needed for ships or the resources needed for the various crafting skills. Without the resources for the crafting skills, you'll have more difficulty in crafting the best gear.

I logged onto beta 2 days late and there was loads of space, people just want the first zone.
I dont no why but there is plenty from around lvl 20ish, my zone was half full.

I just think people making a big deal when there isnt one!

So are there only so many places you can put a house in the game world, so only those there quickly will be able to build one and everyone else will be left without one forever?

Or can you put a house anywhere in the world and its just good locations people are fighting for? (what is a good location? more resources? or just near to important places in the world?)

Theres a set number of locations in the game world, however owning land requires paying taxes through ingame currency. If those taxes are not paid, the structures collapse and the land becomes available again, so if someone doesn't pay, or leaves the game, the structures fall down.

most house locations are probably in the pvp zones?

I noticed the doors were closed on some houses, if I were a pirate could I break into the house and steal stuff from it?

Sadly not...though it is quite funny when you are stood in a town and open a portal to the inside of your house and someone jumps through the portal and appears in your house. And you run outside and shut the door behind you and leave them locked inside your house unable to open the door to get out

They can recall out..IF their recall isn't on its 30min cooldown or they have some hereafter stones to portal with. But you'd be surprised how many don't have any stones left or are on cooldown and are trapped in there. Many is the time I have portalled into my house, run off and then partway down the road had a whisper from someone saying "hey, could you come back and let me out of your house" lol
