What did you do to your bike today?

Just picked up the bike and spent 5 minutes admiring how smooth a brand new ignition is, only problem is unlike the old one it'll now actually allow me to leave my parking lights on so I can see a dead battery happening at least once.
Also need to replace my front brake switch, it only activates the break light if I hold it in just the right position at the minute.

Yeah it takes a bit of getting used to at first.

Can't get the CBR today as it's failed it's MOT on a type and the rear brake disk. Good news for me in a way as it means I don't have to pay for them. Looking like Monday to go and get it now

Have you squirted the switch with wd40? I have to do mine now and again, the little round plastic plunger that sticks out of the switch lube that

I'm going to strip it off tonight and give it a going over but for £4 I've got another one on the way just in case.

Just been down to MCT Suspension in Stowmarket to have my rear shock rebuilt and forks sorted so bit of a review/recommendation.

As an Öhlins dealer/service centre they could have just sold me the TTX GP shock and FGRT forks I enquired about for 3k odd and be done with me. Instead they had already recognised the issue with the stock shock and knew exactly how to fix it.
Something to do with the shims and the way they stop oil flowing means the shock is just trying to compress the oil at the top of the stroke and no matter what settings you put into it you can't get it to work correctly. Then the action of no real suspension in the rear in turn upsets the front. It took them about an hour to modify and rebuild it.
Forks were then a simple fix and with the static and rider sags correctly set, then 10 minutes of bouncing the bike adjusting the dampening Darren took it out for a ride, he came back and let me loose on it, wow what a difference, it now wants to dip into corners like a little 600 and holds a line so well you can get on the throttle with confidence, the suspension is actually working when I go over bumps and not trying to throw me off the bike!
So instead of spending three grand just on parts I spent a little under 300 quid and if feels like I have a new bike under me.
I went and put another 100 miles on it on the way home, just couldn't stop riding :D

I now have a settings sheet from them and included service is free updates, so if I do a track day and call them up with some tyre wear info they will suggest settings or pop back in and get it adjusted during the summer free of charge. Customer for life now that is for sure!

If anyone wants some work done I suggest you contact them, even a basic setup would be money well spent or a full service if your shocks haven't been done in the last 10-20k miles but be quick as during Spring/Summer/Autumn you are looking at 3-4 month waiting list! They are already now booking for the new year.

Very highly recommended.

What do you mean by a type? I had to replace the rear disc on mine too. The back brake is a suprisingly effective tool. Im sure previous owners would just drag the back brake through traffic grinding away at pads and discs *shudders*

I'm going to guess he means tyre.

upto you clovis, its a decent offer, but I wouldn't rush into buying a big bike just yet, wait and look around, soon as you see a good one in good condition and low miles pounce on it or go take a look at it first ect

@jp yeah we should would be good to see everyone on here

Yeah, would rather sell it now so I don't have to think about getting rid of it next year in case I can't sell it in time once I've found one I like.

yh I would feel the same tbf, just don't want you to rush in on buying another, ive seen a fair few decent ones crop up from time to time

I won't rush into buying another one, but if the right one turns up, I don't want to rush around trying to sell mine before I buy, haven't got the room for 2 unfortunately lol :(

If they offered £2200 I guess you had it up for £2400? Just see if they will do £2300 and be ready for something new when you find one you like!

It's up for £2500 and they offered £2000 at first, I've had it listed at £2500 for a month now and I replied saying I'll take £2300 to which they counter offered £2200, haven't replied yet as I'm thinking it over!

Not far off then, money in the bank is nice :D
