What film did you watch last night?

Essex Boys Law Of Survival IMDB link

1/10 .. and thats an overating tbh.

I managed to last a good 10 minutes before turning it off,
which is a shame as im a great fan of the genre .

In a nut shell.. dont go near it or risk slumping into a great depression. :(

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Played this after setting up Kodi to test, before I knew it I was engrossed and by that I mean 2 mins in. In some respect this movie has dated but in a good way, it's almost vintage, from the cars, the style, the fashion, it has become a period piece. What hasn't dated is Audrey Hepburn, and that face and performance.

It's not a perfect movie but a damn good one, 9/10.

Yep, it's great. Roman Holiday is also worth a watch. Give Funny Face a miss, though.

Out of the Furnace (2013)

Good performances all round. After watching this and Black Mass I'm liking Scott Cooper as a director. He makes even the most mundane actions look interesting and captures the relationships between family members really well.

7/10

The Martian

Seen lots of talk about it so figured I'd seen what the fuss is about. Great film, really enjoyed it. Only a few moments felt a bit to ridiculous to be believable, the rest was good.

9/10

Birdman. Bonkers in places, but overall very good. Great acting and cinematography.

Haha, yeah. No doubt it has great acting, but at the end I had no idea why I'd watched it. It went nowhere. There was no satisfaction when it ended. It just was, and there is no explanation for why it is :p

It was a look at me , look how clever I am , I can rehearse my actors and do things in one long take.

Action ! :p

I'd much rather watch The Martian over Jupiter ascending or Interstellar. The Martian was just more gripping and well told than the others imo, I don't think Interstellar is that far behind but I don't think it has massive replay value.

Spectre

Me and the missus normally go and see any new Bond film out around this time of year so off to the flicks we duly went...

The opening sequence gave us high hopes for the film but it was a red herring. The script and story telling didn't do anything for either of us at all which left the few decent actors in it looking decidedly third rate. Gone were the witty one liners as was any semblance of a decent bond girl. The action felt watered down and unimaginative, with the possible exception of a plane chase and a fight on a train. To round it all off, the main baddie felt about as menacing as the little kid at school who was always getting his head flushed down the toilet by all the bigger boys.

4/10 - See me after school.

Why?

Genuine question...it's a bold statement to make without posting your reasoning...:)

Why? because he likes it, a concept they seems to escape you grasp.

Reasoning, is that a new forum rule? Just because you have a problem with it then you must provide valid reasons why you dared to enjoy a film and have an opinion

The Revenant - 8.8 / 10

What a fantastic and powerful film. The story telling and acting were sublime and the cinematography was just incredible

Strippers Vs Werewolves - 2.5 / 10

British "comedy horror" with little comedy or horror. It even has Robert Englund in it (briefly) which should be enough of an indicator of its level. The prosthetics were laughable and no, that wasn't the comedy. It was full of soap opera actors, so they should have had an idea on how to act, but they didn't.
